  2. ahh well that explains it! i picked up 30ft of t-14 from rio that came with three loops but no heat shrink! maybe i just heat the braids them self?
  3. is it just tying thread you used? how many wraps did you do on the nail knot. and do you think head cement would work rather than knot sense?
  4. i was just about to make a post asking how to put these things on properly. do you just slide your line in and thats it? i got the line in all the way to the glued part by the loop but it pulls out with a big tug. am i supposed to glue it? im tyring to make some sink tips but getting no where!
  5. darrin you dont want it draging bottom or your not getting a natural drag free float. you want it to tap every once in a while. but not to be slowed down. always mess with the legnth of your rig. if you see it slow dip or anything set the hook but try and keep your hook set small enough that if its not a fish you can continue the drift.
  6. dont worry guys i have a 7ft boat and i still jump sometimes when i see a garter snake. lol

    Canal

there is a resivour that is fed by the canal further east that has some decent size pike in it. ps sorry to hear about your ankle i broke my pelvis in febuary and it sucks being stuck at home after two weeks i was fishing the bow on crutches. im sure you will be out before you should aswell. be careful and hope you heal up good
  15. im the same way... but i cant make a pair of sunglasses last more then 3 months without being scratched to *hit or lost. right now im also rockin the rapala shades. pretty chessy glasses but they do the trick. mec carrys some cheaper polarised shades that are a little less ugly. may want to check them out. btw the full bongs part is awsome, you should come fishing with us!
  16. fold the line where you want the indicator. put it threw the hole then put the indicator threw the loop that you put thre the hole.
  17. the ridge line is crap from what ive seen. the coating cracks and seperates. maybe other people have had good experinces but from what i have seen its garbage
  18. darrin the courtland444 is a decent line for sure. i would get that or one of the sa headstart or ultra 4 they are all fairly cheap and are pretty good lines.
  19. its emptied it was a great day minus the wind.. i was fishing a double streamer rig and hooked right threw my shirt threw my back and back out my shirt lol thank god for barbless hooks! we got into a a few more nice fish after you left. mike landed a 23 bow and the fish were rising hard starting at 930 or so. there were huge clouds of tricos? and lots of caddis. great job today darren your doing great for a only your third time out! also today we caught fish in all sizes from 8" to 24". the little ones were mixed in with the big ones.
  20. i caught one in the nw last year. it was righht on the seam of a fast current. i saw a post on here last year of a huge pike pulled out of the bow, anyone know where to find the pic?
  21. would anyone like to share a good pattern? ive been searching around and have found a ton of patterns. but i dont know how good they are, a point in the right direction would be great!
  22. great they handed out 450 verbal warnings. 3 written warnings. maybe they should start ENFORCING the bylaws instead of telling people they are not allowed to do something. just warning people is not going to stop the problems... the news has warned people for years that they must wear your life jacket and not drink.

    Tippet

jayvee i use a swivel like mentioned. adds weight and i find i tangle much less.

    Tippet

5x tippet is not really strong. its great for fishing dries or when the fish are picky. but i would use something stronger i use 1x most of the time for nymphing. and 5x for dry fly fishing. sometimes lighter and i dont think tippet will ever go bad.. if it does it would take a hell of a long time.
