  1. yea but with the "scorpiondeathlock"...
  2. Its just me and a buddy that doesn't fly fish much, I wouldn't consider him a winner lol!! It wasn't contest, was just looking for some names as Ive basically used the same guy each time I go out. Luckily our date changed and he is free that day Thanks to everyone that responded. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we have a great day on the water.
  3. another sweet film by the "New Wave Angler" thanks man, i always enjoy you r vids!!!
  4. Just threw this together, tung. bead, little different colour but the legs look pretty good. I dont have that colour, mines mottled turkey thin skin. before the goo looks good also
  5. Im 44 and mom wont let me go anywhere legally impaired for 24 hrs. That said im sure my wife wouldn't mind if I tried wading through the river in this condition, thats real Go figure I had to go out into traffic for something "Today" of all days, made it but she was stop n go this morning.
  6. These are the good times the freezing started to wear off about 3 hrs ago. The anti-inflamatory pain meds they gave I cant do because of my chrones disease. Hello, they sent me some Tylenol 3's as well woot woot just jokes, if I dont have to I wont take anything but, t 3's def do the job, if need be. Good old Advil regular strength seems to work great for most stuff, unfortunately Advil and chrone's don't mix
  7. the good thing with boatmen patterns is that they are typically easy to tie. Murray, theres a bead on that fly eh? is it glass or tungsten?
  8. yes i do spend a lot of time at work fired up watching fly guys and the river, theres actually a couple of spin guys that r always down there. Anyways yes its a good place to be. Seeing them and not being able to go gettem is painful sometimes, the good thing is that the rivers still there after work
  9. seeing the river on the other side of the fence doesnt help lol! but yes a great view from work.
  10. woowee, thats a beauty!!
  11. dead drift, strip, swing, this fly does it all, just sayin. you can leave the legs longer or angle them towards the head for a more natural look but it doesnt seem to matter. Even though this isnt tied using it, I really like Super Fine Dubbing for this pattern, you can get it really tight and slick looking. These bugs are not hairy or say "buggy" as some.
  12. Just tell them your new to tying, the patterns your interested in. They also run fly tying courses for beginners and vets alike, they used to anyways. I took one there a long time ago
  13. Hit up FishTales Fly Shop. Not sure if they still do it but back in the day I bought a kit off of them. Came in a rubber maid container and contained basically everything you need. Tell them what you want to tie and that your new and they may throw something together for you. IMO they're still the most helpfull store around, just saying.
  14. Got it done today, STOKED!! WOOT WOOT!
  15. i feel like i'm in jail Just saying
  16. found his leg in a bunker and some other parts, not sure what they where?
  17. I understand but, this trip has just come up as an old friend has contacted me. It costs a lot so if i cant get someone I feel comfortable with we just wont go. We'll try and if it doesn't work out, better luck next time
  18. I thought he was the guy behind the humblefisherman vids. Thank you for pointing that out though...
  19. Im torn at this point, I have a past here. Man I wish I could go back 10 years this decision would be much easier, I think. One guy I would like to use but am hesitant because of my past here, not really hesitant, I just wont do it. Good life lesson for myself and others to always try to be cool, you just never who ur gonna need or run into down the road. BF
  20. never seen a double worm rig and never will.
  21. seen josh on tv and his humble vids, sweet!
  22. Thanks for the responses, gotta make some calls.
  23. Im looking for recommendations. A buddy and I are planning a Bow float for early oct, Im finicky, in paying for a guide Ive only used Terry J out of FishTales and am reluctant to book without him. That said he's popular and its not looking like he's available on the days that I am. It costs a lot of money and I want a good guide, someone that does it for a living, not just some guy that has a boat. Its happened once before and it wasn't awesome, hence the reluctancy. Im sure there is a couple more really good guides out there, I just don't who they are. Any help would be appreciated.
