Just learning myself, I find the weave to be frustrating tension and material are your factors, the material you use can make easier or harder. I gave up three times in the past lol, this time I managed to hang in there long enough to get the basic weave down anyways!

Bead Head Hares Ear Nymph is about as easy and effective as they come. IMO size 12 is to big so i go mainly 14's and 16's.

That Clouser Minnow you tied up will work around here as well. I have limited Streamer fishing experience but have caught a couple fish on the Bow with a white one. Try tying a Pheasant Tail Soft Hackle, it was an amazing fly for me this past season...after the flood and all!

Ya for sure, very a matter of fact like, thats how it is with addiction. We battle alcoholism in our family as well and its not easy. Fortunately it hasnt ended like this, but very well can or could have at anytime. Ive seen my mom at that point and my best friend succeeded with his own death a few years back Its a roller coaster ride that no one wants to be a part of, it never goes away regardless of how things appear on the outside. I feel for the family as there truely is nothing that could have been done, helpless is an understatement. It has to come from within the individual.

I cant post pics on this website. I def considered that the deer hair wont allow it to sink enough. Was using an 8' 4x leader so that it would sink. Im guessing the deer hair combined with moving water was it. That said there must be a good reason as to why people love this fly? catches fish right? just gotta getter down there and cant imagine adding weight with the dumbell eyes and all.

Do you guys add weight? I was casting one with my 6W the other day and it would sink, even after it got wet. Anyways, when watching the vid he didnt add any. Its already a big clunky fly but wouldnt sink. BF

Was out fishing, on my way home I saw this whole scene. New it wasnt good and just read it on global. Just happened so there isnt much info. Carefull out there, it was fairly sketchy.

Just picked up a pair of Simms G3 Waders. I think i got a good price on them. Anyways the hunt is over, I went into Iron Bow today because i just happened to be in Dalhousie and the whole thing just came together. Thanks guys and nice store bought some schlappen as well!
