  1. Be strong man, that is scary stuff! Praying for you & your family
  2. Has anyone here ever tried a trail cam pointed at their car?
  3. Thanks guys, yes I use Lr and have tried Picasa, There's just not enough storage on Picasa for me.. I found a quick fix. Appending /map/ to my flickr albums takes me to the map view
  4. Darn, I'd be all over this but the date doesn't work
  5. For years I've been using Flickr for my geotagged images. I store images in albums and before the recent site overhaul I used to be able to view a map for each album. I had a group album of one photo from each of my hike trailheads or parking spots for fishing and from that I could view that album in map view showing my geotagged images.. However the updated flickr got rid of the Map view by album and so now I'm hooped. What do you guys use for organizing and viewing geotagged images? I'd like to have it on a website so I can access it if I'm not at home... Thanks!
  6. FYI, Version 2 of the Southern and Northern AB BRMB are available at Wholesale now. Just saw them there today
  7. I've been trying to find a solution for my SUV too BurningChrome.. Downloaded the Backroad Mapbooks app on my android and it's only $10.50 per year for the map, but the map is super klunky and doesn't work very well at all. You have to pay additional $$ to get more map features, which is also really stupid. I went with a gas station version from cccmaps.com called the Alberta Back Road Atlas.. It's alright, but not the Backroads Mapbook I really wanted
  8. Got a Q for you Uber.. 7'0", 7'6" or 8'0" for a 3wt build?
  9. My opinion... if you're going for that short (which would be nice for really skinny water) I'd go 3wt. If you're set on going 4wt then an say an 8' - 8'6" would be my preference.
  10. Depends where you go too.. I fished a river last weekend that had 9°C water temps.. worked my way up to a small trib running into this main stream that had 16°C water temps. Headed back to the main river and stayed there. Just always carry an anglers thermometer, never know what temps you'll find!

    Owls Etc.

    Awesome flicks!
  12. Had this question on my mind as well.. I was thinking about taking my boots to a shoe repair shop with a new set of felts and just showing him what I need done! Don't want to retire my boots because they're still in good shape aside from the felt!
  13. Isn't that incredible.. what a sad place that watershed is
  14. Fellow tiers, A friend of mine sent me pictures of this pattern and he didn't have the recipe or step by step.. When I try to recreate it I crowd the eye, trap hackle and fur in the whip finish, and can't seem to get my fly to look and float like this one in the pictures. For materials I'm basically tying the body as a pheasant tail nymph, then lay deer hair at about the thorax, and make a few loose wraps then cinch it down and finish with a few wraps around the hair clump to make it more like a post. I finish by tying in my hackle at the point where I tied in my deer hair, wrap it and whip finish it. I find I always trap hackle in the eye which makes it harder to thread on the river! Any help on how some of you would go about replicating this pattern would be awesome! Sample 1 Sample 2 floating like an emerger.. this one seems to have a maribou body? My tie.. tough to see, eye crowded, lack of definition between hackle and hair, will probably float like the samples but just not as tidy
  15. Oh man, that is brutal.. I couldn't imagine getting all my camera gear stolen. I hope you had downloaded your memory cards! Best of luck to you
  16. Hardy DD is an awesome reel.. print off the reel page from cabela's site with the price and take it to wholesale. They'll price match for a crazy deal on that reel. I am finding it hard to get spare spools for my DD5000 though.. Not sure what's up with the distribution, the Pure fishing purchase of Hardy and Greys was two years ago now.
