  1. awesome vid, Ive done yellowfin but never bluefin. Looks like too much fun! Saltwater has ruined me
  2. JerryN, just like he said, a starter kit is full of some crap you may never use. Solid Vise, Solid tools, and just look up the flies for the rivers that he might fish and get fly specific materials, alot of the materials cross over from fly to fly. im sure your end up happier this way
  3. razor blade is best, i've used both the straight and flexible kind for mine but am by no reach an expert but im super happy with mine
  4. policemans has winter honey holes everywhere that i was able to scout this past season, I do fear for one spot inparticular where the water goes from bank to 10 feet deep in one step. Please be careful out there!
  5. congrats I became a father last month! its crazy!
  6. I really appreciate the feedback! i know there is a couple styles of sex dungeon ties, ive seen rabbit over hackle and just hackle(galloup style). Jayhad, when you say yellow/olive is this reffering to a rabbit/hackle tie or is it a head/body color. which style do you prefer to tie? any further clarification would be appreciated.
  7. ive caught many a bull trout on double bunnys and buggers smaller then sex dungeons but thank you for your bow colors,
  8. recently been into tying articulated flies, wondering what color of sex dungeons you have found to be most effective on the bow and for bully's. My Guess would be Olive, any other colors?
  9. i know foamy:) I was being sarcastic, it can be lost sometime in text. Fish Tales for the win, although i have had nothing but good experiences the few times I have been to Iron Bow
  10. Im not new here mon frere (thats french for brother) i would name names. Ive had mixed experiences at Wholesale myself, most of the time I dont care to even talk to the staff because I go in there knowing what material im looking for. I owned a retail/service store for 8 years and loved nothing more then to hear about all experiences good and bad to improve my business. I never directly addressed specific events but made sure to make a note of discussing good practices to avoid situations that I had had relayed to me.
  11. not a bad piece of media for once. Jim Stelfox retired?! who is going to run the stewardship program?
  12. i don't understand why you wouldn't name a store where a bad experience occurred. do everyone a favor and tell us where not to waste our time. I for one will be the first to report a bad experience, its empowering as a consumer and can only lead to better service in the future. I want to know who to support and who has not earned it.
  13. I scouted a couple deep holes around policemans this summer, like d rock said, new deep holes everywhere below Harvie
  14. Thanks don, you just answered my questions before i asked them!
  15. I just ran out of glass beads that had been given to me, just wondering where either online or locally i can get my hands on a couple different sizes, Thanks! Clear glass beads to be more exact
  16. this year while its not in the regs? or have you always disregarded the barbless reg?
  17. dont get me wrong, i love the southwest, and have spent a good number of years exploring its scenery and amazing fishing opportunities. but this year ive focused on central alberta, fishing spring creeks, prairie creeks and have been rewarded with good fishing and different scenery. I encourage others to give it a try. Its different with its flat water and "ninja" fishing that is required to sneak up on weary browns and skiddish brookies. If your planning on giving it a try watch the weather like crazy, these creeks are much more susceptible to discoloration with a little rain. Shorter rods fare very well when willows and overgrowth are hugging the banks. Hella fun and challenging! Cheers
  18. those pictures are staggering. total change of river architecture. Thanks jayhad for settling some curiosity
  19. that article is older then the derailment (dated 26th). while It was inundated after the flood. after the train derailment it was shut down for a period of time.
  20. highwood went form ~30 cm/s at 6 pm to 895 cm/s at 1 am! should create some new water features, wishes and prayers go out to those in the affected areas!
