  1. my former house was broken into twice, once in the morning before noon and once at ~2:30pm so its not unheard of. When i talked to the cops they said it happens alot while your at work. A client of mine is a locksmith, he gets real busy around this time of year, so I lock up tight. Hope they catch the a-hole
  2. try old school, swing wet flies, or like trailhead said, non weighted nymphs are worth a try
  3. Love brian, he knows his stillwaters, hes on like every 2nd episode of "the new flyfisher." is it to imitate a larva stage chronie?
  4. you got a good eye bob, thanks for the eye candy. ill keep an eye out for the red rapala cap!
  5. I agree with both Don and Dave, that there a bigger issues to address, but this thread was about barbs, if you want to talk about the "bigger issues" start your own thread.
  6. try some purples don! their my fav micro!
  7. I am with you 100%. I will never use barbs regardless of regs. doesn't matter size 20+, or size 8. All I can do is attempt to leave the least amount of impact on the fish I catch, and imo that means not using barbs.
  8. When he says mild, it means MILD. Dish soap is a degreaser and if mixed too strong will dry out your line making it prone to cracks. If you can, use even a bar of soap mixed lightly with water.
  9. Truth man, all truth:) armchair fishing isn't half as fun as real fishing. COME ON SPRING!
  10. fabricland at northland mall has an assortment of thicknesses, not sure about the length and width of the "sheets".
  11. i agree that the handling and identification of fish species is first and foremost when it comes to mortality rates. It was an observation worth noting as it was absent from the regulations we all follow. If i were to be stabbed in the mouth i would much prefer a sharp shiv as opposed to a barbed harpoon. It is personal choice for the time being, I agree.
  12. Just looking through the regs for 2013 and it has come to my attention that there is no mention of debarbing hooks. Although some may argue that barbs and no barbs have similar mortality rates, I have always been and always will be an advocate for no barbs on hooks as to reduce the trauma and for an easy hook removal. Im a pure C&R fisherman with a conservation attitude and frankly i'm a little miffed about barbs being reinstated. Cheers, Chad
  13. mad respecto, form is pretty bad, but still awesome
  14. if its good enough for brian chan, its good enough for me. I use whatever i feel like using, im not out to impress anyone with what a purist i am. Its the evolution of the fly fisherman.
  15. and the elk runs into it! This is also true, been there once and it was beautiful
  16. thats pretty far to haul a 32' trailer but i highly recommend it. Shuswap has a couple campgrounds on the lake that ha vebeaches. are you looking more for ocean or just sand and water?
  17. red, i have been doing the same and she has been good to me too. btw...is that a velvet fog in your profile pic? lol
  18. trout tv is all commercials, for actual content "new fly fisher" is far superior imo. The episode of the latter on The bow is all fishing and alot of info. highly recommended over Trout TV, just my 2 cents (i guess now rounded down to 0 cents). I will try and find a feed for that episode, wish me luck
  19. people dont like pigeons, it doesnt mean im in PA supporting live pigeon shoots. Its about the humane treament of animals invasive or not. although the harvesting of fish oil/biodiesel from these fish is an interesting proposal 420, im with ya!
  20. I have the piranha 180 and love it 420, i would say look no further but i dont have a base of comparison.
  21. pretty good show, way better layout then last year. not alot, alot of new things to see besides the presenters and the seminars. overall a pretty good show 8/10 from me! good to put names to faces. +1 for Chico, +1 for jim, +10 for fly fusion, the best fly fishing mag bar none! Cheers
