  1. Had a great time and it was good to meet a few folks from the board.
  2. Will do. We'll likely be leaving sometime after supper, gonna float the Bow on Friday.
  3. Well my boss saw my last post and got scared, so it looks like I will be going now. Will be there Friday eve staying until after fishing saturday.
  4. I doubt you will see any risers, the only fish I've seen were dead ones. I've been out a couple of times with Dean and I know a few others who have been out and have seen 0 fish. Your best bet is to talk to Dean and Tim. Sometimes things happen that are beyond anyones control. The only thing we can do now is restock and and implement the plans for improvement the management has to keep winterkill from happening again. I know that Dean and Tim are doing everything they can to make that true. For the members that are considering not renewing your membership also consider that the lake will now be in the position to grow some really nice fish with the proper stocking rates and will be a great place to get out of the city again. Dean has some good trout already lined up so it won't take long. Also, they are receptive to putting in triploids if there are any to be found (apparently availability is an issue right now). Sure it sucks now, but if you don't see this through you will regret it once it's back better than ever . Guaranteed you'd have a hard time getting back in, I have enough friends that would gladly take your place. Monger, feel free to go out there yourself and prove me wrong. I really hope you do, nobody is more dissapointed than me.
  5. I fly fished the Cowichan at that time of year and enjoyed it, Rainbows and Browns. From what I'm told it is good in May but the water gets too warm afterwards.
  6. Wish I could go too, but unfortunately I'm on-call. Instead I'll be swimming in a pool of contempt plotting my revenge!!!!! After that I'll probably clean the house up a bit and go get groceries.
  7. You could just hook up with these guys: Fish Creek / Bow River Clean-Up Saturday, May 3, 2008 May 10 in the event of rain Spring is upon us, the snow has melted, and the litter that accumulated all winter is easy to spot. 8. Outcast warranty is great. I left my float tube setup on the shore of a lake only to have it eaten by an animal and after recieving my boat Outcast sent me a new one no questions asked.
  9. Borrowed a 9wt TFO one time, broke it at the butt section 'SNAP' . Never got charged the 25.00 surcharge because they said it was a manufacturer's defect and wasn't the first they had back like that.
  10. I think the current politically correct term is "opportunistic"
  11. Sure thing, take a look HERE, top pic. Unfortunately you can't see the single foot agate guide.
  12. Hey Red, I've got a 5wt G2 and it's currently my favorite rod. Before I got one I loved how it cast but wasn't impressed by the cosmetics so I had a friend assemble a 4 piece for me with some upgraded components. For a 3wt my go to rod for small streams is a Sage VPS Light 7 1/2 foot, it's great for those small streams where bushwacking, overhanging trees and shrub, and light presentation are the norm. I've also used it for hike in lakes for Cutthroat. Sage doesn't make it anymore but I'm sure they have an equivalent or improved substitute.
  13. Sweet looking flies and they would be killer for Speckled Tout, but I wouldn't invest the time or money in making them. An easily tied muddler minnow with a red tail and gold tinsel body would suffice, Brook trout aren't that bright either but not nearly as dumb as Bull trout.
  14. Great vid, Cayo Coco is still as beautiful as I remember.

It was a great time. Can't wait to go back! I'm getting hungry just thinking about Courtney's smoked salmon with Jalopeno jelly.
  16. Just make sure none of your carry on baggage contains your tools, hooks, etc as you will have to walk all the way back out of customs/security to the checkin counter to have it checked in.
  17. Well, I plan on joining the SLR crowd this year and hope to capture some reality too.
  18. That's a lot of money to eat a virgin. Back when I was a teenager you could get that for free.
  19. I've never thought of you of being so morbid, slow day? I hope you didn't kill the thing on purpose.
  20. True enough Birchy. That's if it's the police that catch you. Screw with a lobster fishermen's trap and you'll wish the police were there. It's amazing that no one noticed this turd, you'd think with all the people around opening month.
  21. I just recently moved out of Calgary. Figured Airdrie (A-Town as I would like to call it ) would be a great alternative, small enough that it still has the small town attitude, yet big enough that it has all the amenities I would ever need and still within easy access to work. So far it's been a great relief after 6 years in downtown Calgary.
  22. Don't ever call me a Herring Choker you Cod Sucker.
  23. Glenn, When I was a teenager in the late 80's my friend and I were walking home from fishing when all of a sudden we see a black lab puppy running towards us out of the woods. Even though we lived in a small community we never found the owner. My friend kept the dog and named it Cindy. My friend now has 3 kids, the oldest boy (my god son) is now 13. The dog still lives! It use to be completely black but now in it's final stage has white eyebrows and a white chin. Anyway, the point is you will have a great companion for many years to come. Congrats. This picture was taken the last time I returned home,
