  1. Ok so much for our Honolulu schedule. We fly to Kona now too, it's on the big island so you know Tiana
  2. You've lived on the big island! So, have you fly fished for Peacock bass in the Kauai reservoirs or how about Lake Wilson? I've been concidering something like that this winter. Sorry to change the subject, boo DOG!
  3. You bet Don, but in your expectations don't forget to to include the 1 % drop in the crack spread in 3rd quarter 2007 and 14 % drop since 2006. (the difference between the price of crude oil and refined products such as gasoline and jet fuel).
  4. Hopefully the upward trend in the Canadian vs US dollar stays for a little longer, at least until the price of crude oil stabilizes. For every one-cent change in the value of the Canadian dollar versus the US dollar my company operating expenses decrease an approximate CAD $4 million per annum.
  5. Since there is talk of the Sharp Aquos on another thread, here is another price gouging example: USA (Florida) - Sharp Aquos 46" LC46D82U , 1678.00 CDN + Freight Insurance/Shipping 312.00 + GST = 2109.00 Canadian BestBuy/Visions/Brick Calgary - Sharp Aquos 46" LC46D82U, 2599.00 + GST = 2755.00 646.00 MORE!!! That's another nice fly rod.
  6. Wow, all those amazing fish, makes you realize how lucky we ALL are to be Albertans. Nice job!
  7. We were using streamers size 6-10, muddlers with lots of flash, pink, purple, blue with lots of flashabou.
  8. All fish were caught using St. Croix 9 foot eight weight rods with sink tip fly lines.
  9. Went to B.C. last week with Gokaroach, spent a couple of days salmon fishing. It was a ton of fun on 8wt rods. Early morning start... Gokaroach, Me, That's a female on the left and male on the right. And two salmon
  10. Great report. I never thought I'd see the day with Brian in breathable waders.
  11. Found it floating down river between Jansen's and Carseland, looks like it would have sentimental value. PM with description if you think it's yours. Leaving town tommorow and won't be in Calgary again until the next weekend so don't expect a reply till then.
  12. Working on Saturday, floating the Bow on Sunday then flying off to B.C. for Salmon fishing on Monday.
  13. I'm pretty sure that is a Leoplurodon bone. For more info on Leoplurodons
  14. I've got the Teton Tioga Magnum for my 8wt and another Tioga for a short 3wt. Agree they are both kinda heavy but have been durable so far and have an excellent drag. Haven't fished with the Trion's but have had a few Battenkills. Can't go wrong there either. Like someone said there is a sale on the Battenkill large arbours direct from Orvis. Great deal when factoring in the value of the CDN dollar. I think when you're buying a reel at that price range it comes down to which reel you like the looks of best.
  15. A couple of years ago a local artist was chosen and paid $40,000 for the trout painting. The trout themselves were done as part of the structure from the mold at Lafarge when the sections of wall were cast, my brother worked at Lafarge at the time.
  16. You went upstream then right? You should head down stream until you reach the bend and the cliffs.
  17. Work tommorow? Ha, sucker! I think this video somehow has relevancy to this thread. All Hail Technoviking. starting @1:30 I was blown away.
  18. This is turning out to be a great day. Too funny!
  19. True enough Pete. Unfortunately this board is privately owned and any censorship can be conducted by the moderators as they see fit. For all we know they could be protecting a frequent poster and/or a friend of their own.
  20. The Westjet store sells Maui Jim's, got a pair for around 130.00. Personally I'm tired of coming back to work from days off and being told I look like a racoon.
  21. Wow, you really know how to have fun!
  22. Ya, the one I caught was albino like too. The most distinguishing feature about it was it's white outward swollen butt hole (no jokes please). Anyway, if your right that means it's Steve who is full of crap We should have a friendly contest on who can catch the 12lb'er first. I can offer a drift boat trip in 2008 or return Westjet Flight (with limitations) but that's no good for me because I'm planning on winning
