Outcast warranty is great. I left my float tube setup on the shore of a lake only to have it eaten by an animal and after recieving my boat Outcast sent me a new one no questions asked.

Borrowed a 9wt TFO one time, broke it at the butt section 'SNAP' . Never got charged the 25.00 surcharge because they said it was a manufacturer's defect and wasn't the first they had back like that.

I think the current politically correct term is "opportunistic"

Sure thing, take a look HERE, top pic. Unfortunately you can't see the single foot agate guide.

Hey Red, I've got a 5wt G2 and it's currently my favorite rod. Before I got one I loved how it cast but wasn't impressed by the cosmetics so I had a friend assemble a 4 piece for me with some upgraded components. For a 3wt my go to rod for small streams is a Sage VPS Light 7 1/2 foot, it's great for those small streams where bushwacking, overhanging trees and shrub, and light presentation are the norm. I've also used it for hike in lakes for Cutthroat. Sage doesn't make it anymore but I'm sure they have an equivalent or improved substitute.

Sweet looking flies and they would be killer for Speckled Tout, but I wouldn't invest the time or money in making them. An easily tied muddler minnow with a red tail and gold tinsel body would suffice, Brook trout aren't that bright either but not nearly as dumb as Bull trout.

Great vid, Cayo Coco is still as beautiful as I remember.

It was a great time. Can't wait to go back! I'm getting hungry just thinking about Courtney's smoked salmon with Jalopeno jelly.

Just make sure none of your carry on baggage contains your tools, hooks, etc as you will have to walk all the way back out of customs/security to the checkin counter to have it checked in.

Well, I plan on joining the SLR crowd this year and hope to capture some reality too.

That's a lot of money to eat a virgin. Back when I was a teenager you could get that for free. -
I've never thought of you of being so morbid, slow day? I hope you didn't kill the thing on purpose.

True enough Birchy. That's if it's the police that catch you. Screw with a lobster fishermen's trap and you'll wish the police were there. It's amazing that no one noticed this turd, you'd think with all the people around opening month.

If You Could Live Anywhere In Alberta....

I just recently moved out of Calgary. Figured Airdrie (A-Town as I would like to call it ) would be a great alternative, small enough that it still has the small town attitude, yet big enough that it has all the amenities I would ever need and still within easy access to work. So far it's been a great relief after 6 years in downtown Calgary. -

Don't ever call me a Herring Choker you Cod Sucker. -
Glenn, When I was a teenager in the late 80's my friend and I were walking home from fishing when all of a sudden we see a black lab puppy running towards us out of the woods. Even though we lived in a small community we never found the owner. My friend kept the dog and named it Cindy. My friend now has 3 kids, the oldest boy (my god son) is now 13. The dog still lives! It use to be completely black but now in it's final stage has white eyebrows and a white chin. Anyway, the point is you will have a great companion for many years to come. Congrats. This picture was taken the last time I returned home,

No saw, just a small axe and some well placed karate kicks

I'm stuck at home today because I"m on-call while everyone else is probably out walking the Bow. But reminiscing is fun, so here is a couple of mine from last spring:

Back home we call it a "Nor Easter". The good part was you had school off for a couple of days. The bad part was you had to spend the first day digging for the family vehicle. -

How about Keith's? Everything from the Maritimes is better. Well, we can figure that out I'm sure. Give me a call sometime. -
Fishing The Missouri River

Very funny Brian, that was the Bitterroot river, but ya, not a great idea. I've floated the Missouri only about a half dozen times but can tell you that early May would be a great time to go. There are no crowds at that time of year. You may get some awesome dry fly fishing to large pods of sipping trout. The river below Craig has it's flow rate regulated by the dam at Holter. If your down there early enough in May you be able to still see the schools of large Rainbows up at Holter Lake above the dam. The great part about the Missouri @ Craig is there is a road on both sides of the river all the way up to the dam which allows for some easy walk and wade access. There is a nice pub in Craig and within walking distance to the campground, river, fly shops. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once you get into Craig you could head to the "Trout Shop", you will be able to get some the river report and pick up some hot flies. The owner loves Canadian beer you can't get in Montana, maybe you could bribe him for some secrets. Hopefully, I can make it down there this May too. Good luck. -
You bet, born and raised. Ha, what kind of geek are you, engineer geek right?

Hmm, do you think they'll have any jet boats? -
I've got a boat. But, I've already got an extremely reliable service. What are you going to do about April, May, June and September & October while your in school? You'd have to come out with a pretty reliable long term service in order for me to get my keys returned and alienate the other company.
