  1. Worth checking out but sometimes permits are allowed for boats in the city for studies.
  2. Got 1 of the 2 done. The second is much harder and the first was not easy. I used plutonium and nitro. Lol
  3. Carpet is off 1 of 2. Bond was on most of bench but spotty. I have used a wire brush on a drill and a heat gun and scraper. Slow and tedious. May use acetone or xylene. Not to happy to but may save a lot of work. I think i will spray some rustoleum paint too. as I have scraped the paint alot to the alum.
  4. Even slow going with the drill and wire brush tip. May use some acetone, otherwise have blasting caps on the ready. Lol
  5. Howdy All. After a few years of good use I need to replace the carpet on my boat bench seats. The prior owner did a superb job of gluing the carpet down,( as expected, as Dave does all jobs well). I am scraping and spraying adhesive remover and scraping, and scraping and scraping. Trying to clean it as good as I can to re adhere the new stuff. Any suggestions what I can use to remove the rest. Tomorrow I will try a heat gun and scrape. Thick stiff and hard to remove.
  6. I have done an inquiry in the past, to not get a response, on how to gain info in the potential of becoming a sponsor to promote our business, or at least find out if it is a conflict of interest. If someone would PM me i will fwd my contact info to seek out info and see if this can go somewhere? Please and Thanks Paul L
  7. All are legit concerns Ralph. The Trans Alta flow fluctuations are just a joke, and would think also promotes the Didymo growth.

  9. So you pull the plug, and pick off and out any weeds, clean anchor rope and boots. Are you also supposed to wash the boat ie spray carwash? Just Googled AEP Boat Inspections, lots of good info. An inspection of your watercraft and trailer will be conducted. Watercraft Inspectors will be looking at all areas of the boat that could harbour invasive mussels, this includes but is not limited to: Anchor lines Bilge areas Hull Life jackets Live wells Motor Trailer You may be asked to remove ballast bags, demonstrate that internal holds are dry, and to engage bilge/ballast pumps if applicable. Your help and cooperation with accessing these areas will be appreciated and will help to expedite your visit. If you have any questions during your inspection, please do not hesitate to ask your Watercraft Inspector.
  10. Great post. I do feel they can still put back another launch at the burm above Carseland wier where the old one was.
  11. The spray gun had been suggested, just didn't trust the 25 ft to the peak, and did not think I could clean it very easy after. Ended up using an eves trough extension cleaner. Worked well, but now they are trying to nest in an old piece of drift wood in the garden. Moving in to the narrow cracks. Maybe a spray for this one. It's a nice piece of wood.
  12. Thanks Talli, just may have to go there but a long drive from Okotoks.
  13. All good info, Thanks All, but it is 25 feet up under the peak. Making it a bit harder. Tonight will use an extension gutter washer with pretty good spay force. EMT, the bag idea seems cool once I get the nest down.
  14. Howdy Guys and Gals. Any suggestions on where to buy Marine grade carpet? Thx Paul
  15. Got on a 10 foot ladder at midnight with a hose and sprayed the crap out of the nest and it didnt come down. Either very strong nest or poor hose preasure. Was only 15 feet from it and no go.Now a very clean nest.Lol
  16. Brand new house. They are just starting to build it, still quite small. That is why I thought a hose would maybe bring it down.
  17. Did all that already except for the camera, that is why I am asking for more advice. Thanks though, cause you did not provide the number. Lol
  18. Small problem, soon to be a big one. Found a wasp nest under the peak of our roof about 25 feet up. Was thinking at night when they are dormant to try to knock it down with the hose and bag it. I am not the guy for being high up on a ladder or roof. Any suggestions?
