  1. Saw this email come across yesterday and found it interesting and extremely scary. It allows you to drop a Nuke anywhere in the world using google maps. As a result you can see it in 2D or 3D. They have a big list of historical nukes that have been used as well as nukes currently in the Arsenal of Russia and the US. Worth a click if you have a few minutes. http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/
  2. That is awesome information guys. Thanks for all the tips. I cleaned them real nice tonight so I need to let them dry. I also stopped and got two clamps, some sandpaper and some gorilla glue. Given that I have the Gorilla Glue I will probably give it a shot first. I usually don't fly fish during the winter so it may be a good solution. If it isn't then I will probably go grab some Barge cement like you suggested alan2. Thanks again for posting the video. And to everyone else for their opinions and experiences.
  3. Perfet thanks guys. I think I will stop at home depot and grab some gorilla glue and sandpaper. Probably use some fishing line and a set of chains to replace the clamps as I have them available. Thanks a lot for the tips everyone.
  4. Do you recall where you picked that up?
  5. Hello while fishing on Sunday the felts on the bottom of my right boot came half off. I fished the rest of the day but it was flapping on the bottom like a dogs tongue. I am planning to buy some sort of glue to put the felt back on and then wrap some fishing line around it to hold the felt in place while the glue sets. I am wondering has anyone had any experience with this and if so what sort of glue/epoxy did you use? Thank You, Russ
  6. Great Post I think to simplify it we can refer to each spot with a number so people can respond more easily. See the numbers in brackets below. I also assume for flies two or three people will use the same knot so I didn't think we needed to specify. Fly Line Leader Tippet Tippet =================================*------------8--------------------------------------------------*-------------------------------*J*-----------------------*J Nail knot(spot 1) Indy Surgeon's knot (2) Improved Clinch (3) Improved Clinch (4) for both of these 1. Nail knot or just the double loops provided by a fly line and tippet. Usually as I am so slow at the nail knot I will just do it once with some 1X and then do a perfection loop to make a loop this allows me to switch leaders very quickly and easily. 2. Surgeons. 3. Clinch 4. Clinch Interesting post as I too have been wondering a bit about knots. To help with the discussion I have found this site to be very helpful: http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php Also does anyone use any of the many knot tying tools currently available? I have one which I have found to be very helpful with the nail knot in particular.
  7. Peter I am out there Sept.6th weekend which probably isn't soon enough. If you still don't have it by then let me know.
  8. Nice pictures. My sympathy level is very low for you for having to experience such "hardship".

    2013(First 1/2)

Wow great combination of fish pictures and just pictures in general. Thanks for posting.
  10. Ha, yeah I took the whole week off again. Although I was up early the next morning for a breakfast. It was a pretty cool show as a friend I graduated with has a Corb Lund cover band called the Wine Soaked Preachers. They played at the unicorn on Saturday night and Corb showed up to watch and played a few songs with them. He let my friend get up on Coke stage on Sunday and sing a song with him. I instead was the nerdy guy in the merchandise booth, much more glamorous than the stage.
  11. He put on a hell of a show on Sunday on the Coke Stage. Anyone else there to see it?
  12. Hello everyone I got out yesterday to see how Policemens Flats fared after all the flooding. I had been spending a lot of time down there so far this year, I am happy to say it will be fish-able again soon but as for taking boats in and out I don't imagine that is going to happen any day soon. Realistically it may be out of the equation for the rest of 2013. Here is the link to the pictures: http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/russbell1/library/Policemens%20Flats%20July%2011%202013%20Post%20Flood Below please see the pictures, with the addition of my finger on a couple... room for improvement on my picture taking although I believe we all get the idea. . Pointing north down the driving ramp to the parking spot: This picture is pointing west about halfway down the cinder block road. Half of the road is washed away as you can see in the picture above and this new channel was created. Right under neath me is a drainage pipe, I assume the high flow rate through the pipe washed this out, all though it also probably came right over top. This picture is pointing south back at the river it really shows the pipe and how the road fell in: To the east edge of where the boat launch was located: A little more to the west then the previous: Farther west again, this was once a parking lot. It appears the rock wall held but it came over the top and washed away the parking lot before heading back east: Close up: I believe pointing back east again just showing how some of the big trees were uprooted: From the east edge of the parking lot facing West: Big Panoramic, probably worth viewing on photobucket: It is facing south, the left hand side is east and the right hand west. Here is a link: http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/russbell1/media/Policemens%20Flats%20July%2011%202013%20Post%20Flood/P1000205_zps9a598a38.jpg.html South again: Ha apparently I liked the rock wall and ex parking lot: Panoramic facing North, left hand is the west where the parking lot once was. http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/russbell1/media/Policemens%20Flats%20July%2011%202013%20Post%20Flood/P1000202_zps8ca4610b.jpg.html
  13. Those are some nice pics Red, thanks for sharing.
  14. Thank you for sharing, very good information to have.
  15. I also have a Panasonic TS3 and love it. On top of the fishing I also used it for some Snorkelling in Australia and found it worked pretty well. All the pictures are on facebook. It also managed to make it through all the drunken shenagins of being dropped and covered in booze. Whoops!
