  1. Well you have two options. First the wii doesn't have an Ethernet port on the back of the console. The unit is only wireless. so i guess three things.. Second. Go to futureshop or bestbuy or memory express and get yourself a wireless router. That will allow the wii to talk to your modem and receive and Internet signal. Third. Call up those awesome shaw guys (not saying that just cause i'm an employee ) and ask them to come exchange your modem for the modem/wireless router combination. I believe you can now buy these units from Shaw $68,or rent them at $3.95 dollars a month. The router from Shaw is comparable to those you buy from the other stores. just uses less equipment. http://www.shaw.ca/Internet/Wireless-Gateway/ And lastly, so i guess 4 things.. You will need to get the Component or HDMI cable for the wii in order to get netflix in HD on your TV. Send me a PM if you have any other questions. Everette
  2. i bought myself a 9ft 6wt at bass pro. TFO, it came with a crappy wind river reel but i got all of it for 170 buxs might have been 180. I still use the rod and i'm going to get my gf into the fly this summer too (if shes willing) and i'll let her throw that around. Just bought me a new orvis access 5wt.
  3. i also find bass pro a joke. I frequent that store a lot since i live in the NW or the city. But when i go there i know exactly what i want and where to find it. If i only have to talk to the cashier then i'm happy..
  4. haha.. to funny.. i would like the partitions removed to hit pierre.. not a huge fan. And his monster of the game is never the monster... go away pierre!!
  5. well keep in my the end result. There is a guy whos under six feet and weighs half of what that 10' monster weighs.. You can't expect patch to take a hit from him and not sustain some sort of injury. I dont think it was a dirty hit from chara. However, I do agree with a radio announcer that i heard today saying that chara did injury a player on an illegal play. I feel there should have been some sort of suspension but i wouldn't say 10 games or anything. 5 minutes and a game just wasn't strong enough i dont think. Might be biased because i am the biggest habs fan (self-appointed) haha.. Either way the end result was a W for the canadiens, and it just showed that boston might have some bruisers but when the canadiens are on they are faster and more skilled then the bruins. And in true canadiens fashion patch was named the 3rd star of the game. Thats why habs fans are the best fans in the league! If the habs can get ANY of their regular defensemen back then we'd be in great shape for the playoffs... however, i don't think thats gonna happen.. gonna have to do it with a young fast defesnemen and with the expereince of sopel, mara, and gill.. the youngins should be fine. update on patch if you haven't heard, major concussion and fractured vertebrae.. looks like he'll be out for the season...drat!! go PK SUBBAN!
  6. im going to hawaii too in september, however i'm going to maui, in the kaanapali area. I was thinking about bring my fly rod down and casting a few, but i'm not sure if the fishing is any good around there.. i was going to go on a guided trip but the price is a little much when i want to go golfing too.. if anyone knows anything about the area, input would be greatly appreciated.. i haven't ever seen the ocean so its going to be one hell of an experience. I hope you have as much fun as i do jason. It should be a whale of a time..
  7. i like how there are a few canadiens fans on here! big game tomorrow night.. beat those bruins tomorrow to show them what they are in for in the playoffs!
  8. From what i was told. They had played the american national anthem because they had a national broadcast on Verus in the states. I believe they also did this because we all know the hockey market in the states really isn't doing that well. Maybe an attempt to bring in some more fans. From what i had heard that viewing for the game in the states did quite well which is good to see..(not sure what the actual ratings were) And well.. Canadians are considerate, so thats why we honour both north american countries.. Anyone notice how they didn't play the canadian national anthem in the winter classic??(from what i remember) and it was nationally broadcasted on CBC... what does that say about our neighbours to the south... or we can just blame it on bettman. However, even though i'm a habs fan.. The game was awesome to watch, well the hockey game wasn't to interesting but everything else that went on was awesome!
  9. anyone going to the game tomorrow? -7.. should be a chilly one! i'm sitting section x row 37. wayyy out there.. I'll be the guy decked out in all the canadiens swag i can find
  10. i just find it funny how the president and the prime minister just had a meeting to discuss a freer trade market for crossing boarders, and to make it easier for canadians and americans to enter either country easily. Then they spring this extra fee on us. I dont think that 5.50 is going to really stop anyone from going on vacation in the states. It will be more of an inconvenience. I'm going to hawaii in september, and for the extra 5.50... i could care less..
  11. what kind of action would you suggest then if it dedicated for a nymphing rod?
  12. I have the costco rain suit. Its not a bad suit for the price. The jacket is fairly waterproof. I have had it in a downpour and after a while it started to get quite moist. But thats what you get for $80. I also find the jacket to be quite warm for the summer. Its lined so it makes a better fall jacket then a spring/summer. I would suggest MEC as well. I love that store Everette
  13. i have a 6wt 9' TFO that is has a lot of backbone for throwing streamers. I was thinking more of a nymph rod. Possibly use it for the bow or smaller rivers (not streams i have a 4wt for that). I was just under the understanding that with a 10' with a fast action i should be able to huck a nymph rig a distance since i dont do a lot of high sticking, but with a 10' i feel i would be able to have just that extra reach if i were to high stick in certain situations.. I would consider a 9' 5wt or a 9' 6". I am just trying to find the best rod to fit the situation or multiple situations i could face when fishing the bow or other rivers.
  14. thanks for the input. I figured that a 10' might be a big heavier and possibly cumbersome. I have taken a look at the Z axis and i did find it attractive. I will just keep plugging away on research. Thanks
  15. Hey gang, I'm looking into getting a 5wt 10' fast action rod. I am looking around online trying to find a rod that fits my liking and my budget. There are so many brands its hard to choose. Does anyone have any ideas on where I should look or what I should get I dont want to spend more then $350 if i dont have too... thanks in advance for you ideas Everette
  16. im sure i was.. concentration is key.. a bear could walk up right beside me and ask me how the fishing was and i wouldn't even hear him approach..haha
  17. This camera sounds like the cat's ass.. Almost has to many bells and whistles. I'm a technology geek, but when it comes to a P&S. i'm pretty simple. As long as it's waterproof and freeze resistant (i only say resistant because even the best cameras should freeze in -30.lol) Right now i'm rocking the pentax Optio. Bought it on ebay for $115. It works great for just taking pictures of fish. Also take 720p HD video. IMO not to bad for the price. But if i had my hands on the lumix.. i wouldn't be one to complain
  18. i fished the oldman and livingstone a ton this summer and never even saw a single soul... other then the odd fisherman, but no officers... kinda makes me wonder what section(s) of the river they concentrated on
  19. not really a pet peeve, but just thought i'd point out i was at fernie yesterday and had fresh lines alllllll day.. even the same run i went down in the morning was snow covered for the afternoon.. like i had never been there.. but i do have a pet peeve.. people who find the need to drive in the left lane doing the speed limit or LESS and not getting out of the way... i'm not one for speeding super fast but if your doing 100 in the left lane.. its in your best interest to get the hell out of the way....
  20. this is my favourite fishery.. What is better then spending the day in the mountains catching beautiful fish! Signed!!
  21. i have been out about 3 times as well.. i have found that the city sections are pretty much slush free. I was down at policemans last week and it was pretty brutal for slush. I dont know about any farther south or at fish creek. But north of fish creek seems to be fairly ice free.... Everette
  22. for only my second full season fly fishing i found it to be quite productive for me! many days out on the water with many fish. The only thing i couldn't manage to do was to catch a fish on the dry on the bow. I know it might sound weird because i've heard from numerous sources it was fantastic. Not so much for me. So new goal for 2011, trout on dry fly. I hope next year brings us all another great year of fishing on the world class river we have in our own back yard Everette
