  2. I have a guy at work that asked me who to talk to about learning how to fly fish. Him and his wife are eager to learn. I told him id post and see who would be up for the challenge. Any advise or input would be great. Thanks They may also be interested in a float or walk and wade after a lesson. Not sure how it all works for the guides out there. Thanks ladies and gents Everette
  3. i bought a fish cat 4 last summer and i had a hell of a time with it the first couple of times i went out. I haven't really noticed any deflation in mine after i pumped it up.. im sure there is but i might just over fill mine a tad and then it goes down a bit but not enough to sink the ship. as for the anchor. I went to wholesale bought 50ft of rope 2 carabiners and a 5lb down rigger weight and it works great. the one carabiner is hooked to the weight and the rope with a i guess you could say overhand loop knot. then the other end if overhand looped again and hooked through the carabiner and then do the D ring on the front left or right corner of the tube depending on wind direction. I like using the carabiners because its easy to release and tie a new knot higher or lower as the depth of the water changes. for kicking like crazy. That happened to me to the first couple of times i got out there. I have the waterskeeter fins, they are great and go over your boots. (makes it easy if you have to portage or just want to stand and fish from shore for a while). I do like what the other guys said about the dive shop. I never thought about that.. might go take a look. I found that moving the tube kind of cross wind and into it is most effective when its windy. I also found that moving it efficiently comes with time, and finding a rhythm with your fins. I find myself kicking constantly but not very hard. More to keep me in the right direction. With the addition of the anchor i found i kick less and not as hard for sure. However, i have found that with a rocky bottom the anchor doesn't work to well at holding your in position but allows a great slow drift. If you find a good size rock to latch onto on the bottom your in a good spot to hold. Muddy bottoms or weedy bottoms are the best for holding you. And lastly, the water in the back of the tube is normal. I always have water in mine. and i only weight 170. have fun with the tube! its great to use when there are many people fishing from shore and your out in the middle in your own little world. Always thought about bringing it out to dewitts when there are everyone fishing from shore, see if i can't piss a few gear huckers off..haha
  4. those fish cost me another $30 in material today.. .damn it great job guys! thats my favourite lake.. was it fishing any better this weekend cause last week sucked!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I bought a st croix rio santo last year blind. 4wt 8'. Love the rod fir te money. Super light and great for smaller fish in small streams or lakes. I'm sure you will be pleased with the purchase
  6. i was at dewitts this afternoon for a couple hours.. There were sporadic risers and it was quite windy.. Had a hit stripping a leech pattern, but it was a short strike. Had one take on a dry just letting it roll over the ripples.. missed that one too..other then that i should have headed to Mclean like mhd.. i thought about it and decided it was to far for me to go for 2 hours of fishing... last week i was at dewitts and caught 10.. probably 7 or so on the dry.... what a difference a week can make..
  7. way to respond??...the score was 1 zip...may i remind you that they were outscored 12 to 1 in the last two games... just sayin... where are the sedin sisters? 10. i'm going to go check out dewitt this week.. see how the fishing is. I'm sure that if it was stocked on the 24th. The harvesters would have been out in full force catching the limit... lets hope there are a few fish left there that i can fool.
  11. i dont think you went to far. Some people are just inconsiderate. I have found more and more people being that way. They just don't care or probably dont understand. Its to bad really.. I don't find having respect or consideration for others a hard concept to grasp. But some people struggle..
  12. well said. i have also found that if you walk 10 minutes from where you park you rarely find anyone else.. so in saying that.. i'm a walker! find me some fresh water

  19. i'm sure powerpro has some red line you could use as "backing"
  20. seems futile but well said rick I also lost my father to cancer 3 years ago at the age of 50. Living on a river in ontario he introduced me to fishing and it became an addiction for me at a very young age. If he hadn't set me up with a worm and a sinker with the ol' zebco reel (we all know the one i speak of) i would have never fell in love with the sport. I have a couple of friends that have expressed interest in fishing, one of which is my girlfriend. And i whole heartily agree, take a buddy fishing. If they are anything like me, once you catch your first fish and feel the fight of another living animal, your hooked!! R.I.P papa!

  23. if you still have your old computer make a backup of your phone on that one and then when you go to the new computer and sync your phone (don't quote me) but i believe that iphone should transfer all of your contacts to your outlook. I haven't experienced this myself but soemthing tells me that apple will do one thing right and allow the contacts to be transferred. As for your apps.. what sean said
