  1. Pete. If this was Facebook I would dislike this post. Only because I'm super jealous of you at this nmoment.
  2. Saw one of those little buggers Saturday. I got really excited. I love stonefly season!!!
  3. I second the Copland 333. I used it for my first line. Decent for the price.
  4. ^^^^^ like.. good on J
  5. i just bought some rope and a couple beaners and a 5 pound down rigger ball at wholesale and it works excellent for an anchor.. i bought the back pack straps but have yet to use them. love my fish cat 4, hope to hike it up to rawson lake this year.
  6. Hard to consider it aclottery when the same team wins three years in a row. Something fishy going on there I think.
  7. i saw that CO there too.. he had parked on the east side of the river and walked over. I also think that he was writing someone else up just at the side channel. dude was on a bike and he was packing up pretty quick when i was heading back to the truck. and those guys who were spin casting were in that run for at least 4 hours while i was down there.. too bad..i'm sure i could have pulled one out of there
  8. This is excellent news as I frequent the lake in the summer. Maybe if the fish have the chance to grow larger I will have to bust out the 5 wt instead of the standard issue 4wt. Thanks for all who made this possible.
  9. i currently am using a 10' 5wt for my nymph rig. I find it helps me with casting especially out of the boat.. and it also helps with roll casting if your walking and wading and there are obstacles behind you. I say go for it.. this will be my 3rd season with the 10' rod and i love it. Will give you some great arm strength too if your casting it all day.
  10. i do not have shaw 2.0.. you think i would since i work for them.. butt... i have an iphone 4 and the set up for shawmail is a POP3 server account incoming mail server: pop.shaw.ca username, is your email address without @shaw.ca password, is your password if you go into your SMTP server options and under other SMTP servers you need to turn on the Rogers SMTP server. i hope this works for you.. thats how mine is set up and its working. Everette
  11. i'm using a 5wt 10' as well.. makes it easy to roll cast and get some distance from a boat when i'm left handed and have other in the boat. Its a pretty solid rod that also allows for some good distance casting when needed.. like stated above the length also helps when mending from the boat
  12. i never made it to the show this year, but from what i read it was just about the same as last year. As for the Fly fishing expo, went there and should have kept my money, i was in the same mindset as Grinr (sportsman show). I had some money and was ready to spend it. But, it was just a lot of outfitters and a couple shops, some guys tying flies, and a few sexy hyde boats. The only good think i found from it was seeing April in person, damn that girl looks good! and shes a lot shorter then i thought she'd be.... guess i will save my money for the local fly shops where i know they want my business...
  13. working for shaw i see a ton of audio systems. I have see a few sound bars. I haven't heard the polk one but i'm sure its fantastic as well. Having said that, the one I have heard that was absolutely outstanding was the Bose sound bar. I have never been a huge fan of bose stuff but when it comes to a single speaker it does a great job of mimicking a 5 speaker surround. Also if you buy something at visions you have 14 days to return it or 30 days for a exchange. So buy one take it home listen to it and then if it doesn't do what you want bring it back and get another. And then repeat till your satisfied. Remember you get what you pay for, so a cheap sound bar will keep you a cheap sound. hope that helped a bit Everette
  14. haha.. i know i was kidding..wearing more socks is a terrible idea, you feet sweat and get cold way to fast
  15. I look at it this way.. 3 people $20 buxs a person for a day on the water is a pretty decent price. Of course I'm cheap and I wish it was cheaper, but I pay because I want to fish.. simple..
  16. i'd say felix too. been there a couple of times with one of my co workers, great people and great service.. or just wear more socks..that should fix the issue
  17. i had the same thing on the liv a couple weeks ago. Caught the same fish with the exact same marking in the same spot.. ironically on the same adams fly. First time that has happened to me.. and i couldn't help but ask myself huh? really? did that just happen??
  18. as per usual.. great pictures!! i'm a little jealous.. i need to get out exploring

great pics!! i can't wait to get out and catch some alberta stream cutts!
  20. so far this year i have only had one run in with a fellow.. i wasn't to pleased. I showed up at a run that i find very productive most of the year.. i was the only one there.. it was kind of nice.. i fished it for a bit and moved up kinda around the corner. About 10 minutes later i took a step back around the corner and their was a father and son duo fishing just below me. Clearly they were unaware of my presence. The quickly packed up and moved farther upstream. We exchanged a few pleasantries as we passed one another but nothing mean or offensive. I appreciated him moving on after he saw me. now as i fish downstream and back to the whole i originally started at.. A guy walks down that bank and asked how i was doing this evening. I said nothing yet. And then this ass hat (to coin someone elses phrase) has the balls to say I'm just gonna fish up a bit, doesn't even ask. I assumed he meant up around the corner which would have been fine by me. But nope..just about ohhh 30ft upstream.. where i was basically casting my line and letting its drift downstream. I literally could have cast in his pants pocket. I'm sure you could have seen the steam coming from my ears and I'm sure my face was red as blood. But i never said a word.. just fished a for a few more minutes and then F this S, I'm just gonna go home.. completely ruined my night... There isn't a chance in hell i would fish that close to someone without asking them first. But i guess some people are nice and pleasant and some are just dicks. I really hope that the guy who mooched my run is on this board and reads this. I'm sure hes not because i have found most people on this board have a brain and know how to use it when it comes to etiquette. But i have been wrong before. I'm going out Saturday for a drift. I will be sure to say hi to as many folks as possible and no.. i wont cast in the same run as any shore fisherman.. god damn I'm mad right now.. .i need a beer..... Everette
  21. thanks..i will pass on the information and let him make the decision he wishes too thanks again
  22. I have a guy at work that asked me who to talk to about learning how to fly fish. Him and his wife are eager to learn. I told him id post and see who would be up for the challenge. Any advise or input would be great. Thanks They may also be interested in a float or walk and wade after a lesson. Not sure how it all works for the guides out there. Thanks ladies and gents Everette
  23. i bought a fish cat 4 last summer and i had a hell of a time with it the first couple of times i went out. I haven't really noticed any deflation in mine after i pumped it up.. im sure there is but i might just over fill mine a tad and then it goes down a bit but not enough to sink the ship. as for the anchor. I went to wholesale bought 50ft of rope 2 carabiners and a 5lb down rigger weight and it works great. the one carabiner is hooked to the weight and the rope with a i guess you could say overhand loop knot. then the other end if overhand looped again and hooked through the carabiner and then do the D ring on the front left or right corner of the tube depending on wind direction. I like using the carabiners because its easy to release and tie a new knot higher or lower as the depth of the water changes. for kicking like crazy. That happened to me to the first couple of times i got out there. I have the waterskeeter fins, they are great and go over your boots. (makes it easy if you have to portage or just want to stand and fish from shore for a while). I do like what the other guys said about the dive shop. I never thought about that.. might go take a look. I found that moving the tube kind of cross wind and into it is most effective when its windy. I also found that moving it efficiently comes with time, and finding a rhythm with your fins. I find myself kicking constantly but not very hard. More to keep me in the right direction. With the addition of the anchor i found i kick less and not as hard for sure. However, i have found that with a rocky bottom the anchor doesn't work to well at holding your in position but allows a great slow drift. If you find a good size rock to latch onto on the bottom your in a good spot to hold. Muddy bottoms or weedy bottoms are the best for holding you. And lastly, the water in the back of the tube is normal. I always have water in mine. and i only weight 170. have fun with the tube! its great to use when there are many people fishing from shore and your out in the middle in your own little world. Always thought about bringing it out to dewitts when there are everyone fishing from shore, see if i can't piss a few gear huckers off..haha
  24. those fish cost me another $30 in material today.. .damn it great job guys! thats my favourite lake.. was it fishing any better this weekend cause last week sucked!!!!!!!!!!!
