  1. Forgot about the Kamloops Merritt area...even though we always spent the night there and hit some fly shops in the morning. That's definitely where I would stop and fish.
  2. I"ve done this drive a few times and never find anything really interesting (would have to be 'really' interesting too as I've always had the wife and kids) Your best bet may be around chillowack (sp?)
  3. lake fishing where I don't move much...back pack. Rivers is definitely belly bag, or put everything in one box and my front wader pouch. I'm a minimalist when I'm on the move.
  4. phenomenal stuff!
  5. We tried a few other spots on the South side of the lake, but decided the wind wasn't just worth the battle. Fishing was steady where we started, so we just went back. Weeds are starting to come up, but not an issue yet. Give it a week and you'll really start to notice them.
  6. That's hilarious...as I'm replying to Rick's first post...both Toolman and Rick beat me to the reply with even some of the same pics
  7. Had a great weekend! Would do that again any day. Couple pics. Betting money that this is the first BH trout caught on the spey rod...and definitely wasn't the last Double header When are we doing this again!
  8. Good to hear... ...but I thought you liked catching boots Monger...they take great pictures
  9. Well when you wear a blue shirt, what do you expect So where is the famous blue sweater right now?
  10. yup that's it...it's starting to be chronie season
  11. Way to go Bree...sooner or later you'll bump into my girl there (Nature Girl...she's 7). She was out Monday but didn't stay too long cause all she was catching was the little stockers when she wanted the BIG fish.

    Daphnia Pigs

Give someting big to pack all that daphnia down. That's the theory for when they're taking lots of small chronies....they will then grab the odd leech to pack them down. Leech under indicator...don't make it too hard for them to get it.
  13. For me, I would stick with Ouctact or Scadden...highest quality in my opinion. For size wise...it depends on usage. 8' is minimum for rivers I feel, and a 10' can also be too much to control for some. If I was getting a new boat for rivers (Bow) and lakes, I would get an Outcast PAC series in 9', or a 9' Scadden with a casting platform.
  14. Bullshead. Electric motors only, and it's about 25 min south east from Medicine Hat.
  15. Nope, never caught anything in there that wasn't a rainbow. Could be an escape from the hatchery that caught a ride in the rainbow truck.
  16. I have a basically new 5 hp that I didn't use at all last year. Let me know if you're interested.
  17. For lakes, I like wearing them over neoprene booties you can buy at most fising stores. Boots can get too heavy. For rivers, I use the boots.
  18. for me, aesthetics is Spruce Coulee, and then Reesor. Spruce is gorgeous, and right on the lake...give it a shot for brookies, and let us know if you catch any...cause I sure can't.
  19. link here Don't see these pictures that often.
  20. Go to BH. Reesor and Spruce and pretty, but the fishing is poor. Elkwater lake can be a good lake for pike (numbers wise) but the size is really poor...they're all hammer handles that's why there is no size limit there. I've never fished it, but everyone uses gear and heads out in boats there. It's a great park, but BH is where you want to go.
  21. OK cutty stream. Lots of water there, and I've had my best luck on the North Fork, and the Middle Fork. Not as good as the cutty streams in SE Ab.
  22. Would anyone be surprised if Sutter gave Keenan a vote of confidence, and then Kipper asked to be traded? Only problem with this is that Kipper is not such a hot head.
  23. I love the Canadian teams, and that's all I cheer for. But...I'm secretly hoping for the flames to lose so that they can get rid of Keenan. Can't stand him and his lack of ethics and character. Being a hard ass only works for so long before the players lose faith in him. My way or the highway doesn't really cut it anymore. Hoping (and wouldn't be surprised) if he's out of a job after this season and he disappears from the game (like he did last year until Sutter unearthed him)
  24. I like the DT...especially on 4wt and lighter. For my 2 and 3 wts, I cut the DT in half, add more backing, and save the rest of the line for later.
  25. "Quiet contemplation"...one of the best parts of the fishing trip.
