  1. Great stuff, dude! Love that butter-bellied brown trout!
  2. Good stuff, as always! Sad that it's nearly over, isn't it?
  3. Thanks, all. I shall endeavor to put together "Part 2" in the next couple of days. Fortunately, I have my priorities straight. Instead of posting pics on here, I've been spending some time out catching some creek trout on dry flies & getting more pics to add to the next post! This one is from 2 days ago, on a little after work trip; fell for an emerger pattern... Gonna head out again tomorrow after work for one more jaunt; hope they're looking up!
  4. What the hell??? I'm pretty damned sure I've helped every person I've ever fished with. Mostly in the area of self esteem. As in, "Shoot, I'm a way better caster than ol' BobLoblaw!" Also, I'm going fishing for a couple hours after work tomorrow. Hopefully will get a few trout on dries to end the season on a certain creek. So, suck it, Oiler fan!
  5. Remember this one, Monger? I believe this fish took 5-6 swings & misses before our new friend finally stuck it! My buddy from Arkansas doesn't like his face on the Interwebs, so I disguised him in some pics... Smells like dinner is ready. I will continue this on a full belly. Lots more to come, including trips with Taco, Uber, & Rickr. Stay tuned...
  6. The night after those last pics were taken, my vest & a bunch of other gear was stolen from my trunk. Any fish that I caught in the following pics were caught on flies that were gifted to me by some of the fine members of this forum, as well as another local forum. I was also fortunate enough to receive a vest, net, bear spray & every other fly fishing accessory that I could possibly need! Many, many thanks to those who helped make my late summer/fall fishing a huge success!!! Y'all are awesome!!! The following day, I fished with a fellow from Arkansas... Monger joined us for the day, & got a fantastic creek brown (same one in the earlier pics)...
  7. Monger's gorgeous brown... Second time around; got reacquainted with this 23" creek dweller... Released, again... This is what he ate... Mangled fly got retired...
  8. Fished with this dude (DHurst)...
  9. Sturgeon testing Gibson's rod...
  10. Get comfortable, my friends. This will take some time... My bro'... Fished a bunch with slivers86 (Jody)... (Just getting started...)
  11. Sounds a tad optimistic to me, personally. I am a professional boxer.* I first used a fly rod a bit chasing brookies in a creek in Newfoundland when I was a kid. At 17, I followed my older brothers to Calgary. My first success on the Bow came with a big ol' dew worm on the line, back when it was legal. Started catching trout on spinners, buzz bombs, etc. Got my first Bow River fly rod trout on a black Woolly Bugger. Hardly ever fish the Bow in the summer, as I prefer to fish smaller waters when possible. Still feel damned lucky to live in a city with such a great fishery running right through it! *I work in a factory that makes corrugated boxes. (Love the rotating shifts that allow me to get out & fish while the 9 to 5ers are slaving away!)
  12. It's actually been used a crapload, Todd. It's been on a bunch of Southern Alberta creeks & rivers, & has made 3 trips to SE BC. I love that vest, dude!!!
  13. ^I added in a part that you left out, Tex; right after "Rick says "have at 'em..." ^ Sure glad I was attached to that fish with 3x tippet; that bugger tried real hard to get into the wood!!!
  14. Too bad those cutties were so damned skinny & undernourished... Hardly any fun at all...
  15. 'Twas a fantastic couple of days, Tex! Too bad you couldn't make it, Pete. Hell, the Texan was catching fish without even trying! Thanks for the invite, Rick; that's cutty heaven, dude! I may have a pic or two to post, iffen my 'puter will cooperate; it ain't playing nice right now...aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!
  16. Nice!!!
  17. Wow! Absolutely superb! Thanks for that, Jeff.
  18. How is it that I'm just seeing these pics??? Probably 'cuz I've been pretty busy fishing every day for the past week, I reckon. Great shots, dude! I do love me some flower pics. My wife loves stargazers. I used to think that they were gorgeous, but stinky. I guess they grow on a person; now I like walking into the house to find the aroma of stargazers permeating the whole place! Man, those fennel flowers sure do protect their seed pods; would not want to sit on one of those bad boys! I saw these flowers alongside a mountain stream on Thursday; they seemed very popular with the locals...
  19. Couple great shots right there, Mr. Monger; well done!
  20. Sweet! Great pics, Gary!
  21. Yep, you're doing it just right, young fella! Those are spectacular cutties; absolutely gorgeous. Well done!

    A Few Recents

Awesome shots, as per usual! Thanks for sharing. Now, stop making us wait so long in between posts!
  23. What misfortune??? As the wise that I fished with the next day said, "Think of it as an opportunity." And that's exactly what I am doing! And, thanks for the flower pics; it's nice to remember to not just be about the fishing 100% of the time that we are out there! Love those night time browns, dude! Gorgeous fish!
