The land is run by the Philips and it is called Bow River Resort . the phone number was 403 901-2153 . Hope this helps

Never a good feeling losing fly gear or having it stolen. I got cleaned out one fine day back mid nineties on the Crow by some shitty person. Anyhow not trying to prey on your misfortune but the islander is a reel plus a spool. I'll help you out as best I can on that one. Dave

I think I'm going to be sick for you. Thats going to be a while to get over that one. Sorry Brian. When you calm down I probably have a Islander trout series plus spool I'll bargain on with you. Dave

Jay, 20 lbs is not heavy enough, a large weed matt in the fall would easily drag that anchor. Mike

Just to let you guys know ther has been recent Cougar sightings along the river from Policemans Flats east to the Golf course. Now what are you going to carry haha -
Hey Mike I fished out of the 16' Flypod from Clacka and thought the rod storage was great tho rods had to be broken down to store tho left rigged ready to go. Lock and Go system, indoor outdoor carpet to step in and out of. Great for Lakes, with you and your 6 rods in the boat ,now you can take 10 rods. Mikey

Marine Grade Carpet
SouthBow replied to fishinglibin's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I used the outdoor carpet from Home depot, comes grey or green. Last stuff lasted 8-10 years of pretty constant use. Redid mine over last winter, this time coated the plywood first with 1/2 doz coats of spar varnish, again HD they are discontinuing that product come 2012 so get some while you can. Glued carpet with carpet adhesive using the notched trowel. Staple around edges of carpet and your done. Dave -
Well said Pete

Poachers At Policemans Flats
SouthBow replied to eagleflyfisher's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I do not agree with your statement. I believe that with the lack of CO's for enforcement anything we can do will help. A sign at the main access areas with the RAPP symbol on it with the ph # clearly visible will help people who do not have the # handy. Doubtfull many poachers will give it much heed but perhaps let them know they are being watched. I had a fellow in the shop this morning completly disgusted with the rubber gloves with blood & scales on them, empty worm bags etc.. left in & around Police in just the last week. I did not know that for our whole south region there is only one CO. A hireing freeze is on. I will talk to my sign guy and see if we can sponser some signs for this purpose. Dave -
Hi all, Just to let anglers know that fisheries managment will be electrofishing between the WID weir & Carsland weir Sept 12 -16th. They recomend exiting the river promptly if the vessel and it's crew are in your area. Tx.

Cj put a overhand knot in your rubberlegs and then slip over eye of hook and then tie down with thread. hope that helps Mike
-
I would make sure to have hook turned up so you dont have a bunch of Tongue Bleeding Trout, great looking fly tho. Mike Mailey

That is a bad boat launch at Glenmore ive even had my gas tank emptyed. This always deters people from getting any bad thoughts. When i see a person at the parking lots hanging around i put my gear on and then walk behind there vehicle and pretend to write down their license number. It seems to work for me, but be careful some just dont like that. Why? Probably the culprit . my thought Mike

Poachers At Policemans Flats
SouthBow replied to eagleflyfisher's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I hear you, maybe a good sized sticker on the side of the garbage can or nailed to a tree ??This is the 3rd group I've had busted down there. We lost our sign board down there after the 05 flood, perhaps we need another. Birchy was right no RAPP# on the back of a computer bought licence so some visual reminder for these guy's might help somewhat. I guess for now lets all keep a keen eye open for fishermen not following the rules. I have since put the # on speed dial in my phone. Dave
