Block ice with some cubes made at home (store bought ice is crappy) and one of my down sleeping bags over my Igloo Max cooler while I'm away from the camper fishing (which is usually a good part of the day) and I'm good for 8 days during the hottest summer weather. Can't beat that at any $.

Nick, a suggestion if I may, consider using finer wire and 8/0 thread (if you aren't already using 8/0) when tying chironomids in mid and smaller sizes. You can also use 8/0 thread in different colors for bodies and mylar or gunmetal flashabou (the narrow stuff) for your chromies, wrapping a doubled up strand over a tapered thread base. With finer materials you can build up a slim but tapered body, better representing the profile of the naturals. For durability coat with brush-able superglue such as LaPage or Elmer's Krazy Glue.

I use a small carabiner. It's attached to the end of my net handle and hooks onto a ring just below the collar on the back of my vest. Easy to reach, quick to release. A far better system than magnetic ones. No chance of the net being pulled off a magnet.

I'm about to have my G3 felts resoled for the 3rd time. They are three years old and still in great shape. Tough, comfy, very well made, perhaps the most durable boot out there. They are somewhat on the heavy side in a size 12 and a little clunky due to the wide foot print.

That's a beauty alright. Doesn't appear to be colored up for spawn either.

I fished Cano Negro years ago. Really enjoyed the trip. There was a guide that lived in Cano Negro village where i was staying, he and his wife had a small butterfly farm. He had a small flats boat. He would do trips to the Rio San Juan from there to. He was very knowledgeable about the local waters and the fish. Don't know if he is still there.

I sure like my GLX Streamdance 'Presentation'. It's my go to cutty rod, 8 1/2' in a 4wt. Unfortunately I recently had to send it off to Loomis as I had an unavoidable mishap that resulted in a broken tip.

It wouldn't surprise me to see drones being a tool used by conservation officers in the future. Drones have been used as an aid in busting ivory poachers in Africa.

It'll be sad times if slingshots become a necessary item in the fly fishing arsenal.

Bull trout sandwiches, mucho delicioso or anyway you eat it for that matter. Especially bull trout from Kootenay Lake or those from Lake Kookanusa. How could they not be, think about it, these fish eat primarily Kokanee salmon.

I use Gamakatsu Octopus hooks for trailing hooks for bows and bulls. (I'm in BC so we are only allowed one hook. The trailed hook is all you need anyway, unless a particular fly design requires the keel effect of two hooks to swim in an upright position). A #4 hook on a 3 - 3 1/2" fly is perfect. I tend to keep my hooks as small as is reasonable.

I really enjoyed that (Stripped Down). They really do capture the essence of fly fishing. IMHO anyway.
