I can go into the wilderness area and take pictures any time I wish, and for that fact their camping area and all the others are on google earth.., if what you say is true then shut down youtube, and the like.. The saddest thing I ever found while fishing, was a pair of Bull trout. I was on Sheep Creek near, Grande Cache, one of the trout were , circling the other, I used my fly rod to move the one, a female closer to me, she was nose down in the back eddy, I got her in and she had a very large, Treble hook with bait, and spoon attached, stuck down her throat, it was before I had a digi camera, I could not get evidence for RAP, so I took the Hook out of her mouth and held her in the current for over 40 mins, she did not recover, all this time the male was circling the area, when I nudged her back into the current the male came right over and started to circle her and bump his nose to her face.. man it was the saddest thing I have seen in a long time, I still have the big treble and have made it a task of mine to retrieve any lost hardware I find.. I have quite a collection and NONE of it will ever see water again.. other then that 4 pairs of forceps and bout a dozen beers ..

Thanks for the info, I have always questioned that Quirk creek thing just did not know the answer, for sure. I agree that catching Cutties is great and that the native pure cutties should be protected and preserved. But and there is always a but.. if you let the cat out of the bag, it is very hard to put back in, or have you ever tried to herd cats.. imposable.. I say concentrate on keeping the remaining pure strain rivers that way, and contain the Brookies to were they are.. No and I mean no easy answer to this one....

These picks were taken on last Tues at a very popular river that is in the Bear highway.. and with another RANDOM Camping spot only a short distance away... Just sad ... I have seen stuff in third world countries that do not rival this...

just to stir up some stuff, how long does it take for an introduced species to become naturalized to it's new habitat, and the Habitat with it's supposed natural species to adapt to an introduced species, and then to settle down to a status, that is natural to each in the new status ? Is this not how everything got every wheres, everything had to come from someplace else.. at sometime.. White tail deer are not native to SW Ab, and only the Athabasca Rainbows are native, the Browns not native.. the Rainbows interbreed with the Cutties... Cattle have pushed out the Bison and we are not killing all the cattle to reintroduce the bison SOOOOOOO....... Why the vendetta against the Brookies.. I like brookies , and just want to understand the reason behind the licensing and rule modification for the Brookies on the Quirk, and other streams.. Educate me in the reason for this.. Sorry Taco it seems we always end up on the apposite side of the fence..

The link is not the problem now the Directions that are given by Taco, the well meaning miss-guided old fart, is a bigger issue and the problem now... I say again - I agree in principle to what he is trying to do, get eyes on fish, but not this way and this place..

There was a big thread about targeting spawning fish, last fall and the consensus was, do not do it .. well this is a blatant example of that.. and it is not like it is an example of a great Rainbow pool, or some fat browns and there is a ton of Bows, and Browns there, it is a few Bull trout and they are spawning ... I agree in principle with getting eyes on fish to keep poachers away, this however is not the right way to do it IMHO.. I think it would be like the Citizens On Patrol program, but at the entrance to the neighborhood, and the exit to the jail posting the contents of the homes and when people will be away, and even the schedule of the C.O.P. patrols...counter productive.. and miss-guided..good heart'd but miss-guided... and yes the Kettle (me) would pull this hot pot (post) from another certain BB

Good Reply and reason, too bad cause the info was good, I have had BIG guns and RIFLES pointed at me but and there is always a but, that was by trained soldiers,(I hoped at the time), having a crossed eyed knuckle dragging farmer who thinks he is right because he has convinced himself he is right, point a gun that he has less then intimate knowledge of at me is down right scary.... You are right. Have you seen any posts pulled yet, there would have to be no doubt that it gave away a sensitive location or other blatant offense ? You really have to FU to get the post pulled and you will always get an explanation as to why, and what for, and so does the readers.. eg - pulled due to sensitive location revealed, or too vulgar or Hotspotting etc... Which is the reason I wrote what I wrote... Don't you just love it when it is typed and the typist types "what I said was"...
