There is no size limits. We are just suggesting to people to let the big ones go (so they can eat minnows and hopefully perch larva). Some folks are listening...some can't help themselves but bonk the monsters.

Hey Rick, was the guy fishing in the SW corner? If so, it was probably a friend of mine. He lives off the pathway and I told him to take his son out. Do I need to tell him to revive the fish after catching?

I caught that big fish in your first post again today. They are fighting better every day. You see Rick....exercising the trout makes them stronger.

I caught that bigger one yesterday. I remember the reddish spot on her operculum. Another fine afternoon of pig-fish wrestling today. Lots of big runs and some good jumping today. One jumped 7 times.

Some of us old stupid guys use 10-14lb mono for nymphing. We don't like donating flies.

Wolfie, I think your fly will work. Maybe just experiment with some finer/thinner/darker materials for the legs.

Jack, is there any scientific reports where growth rates between diploids and triploids have been quantified? What you stated prior makes sense and was what I previously believed until someone sent me a Master's thesis disputing this view. In this thesis the results showed there was not a significant difference in growth rates given similar growing conditions. I believe the study said that triploids may live longer ( and therefore grow to a larger end size), but the actual rate of growth was no different from diploids. Here in Alberta we can watch how fast the triploids grow in Bullshead to see if they are any larger after year three and four (if they don't get bonked). It will be interesting to see.

Yes , Kevin is a very inventive creator of fine flies. I'd be lost without without him giving me the odd fly to use.

Throat pumps...chironomids, scuds, leeches, the odd chub minnow, a few mayflies, boatmen, beetles. 30,000+ perch down...only a million more to go. We stopped netting in summer due to high water temps and concern about trout getting stuck in the net. Sundancefisher is still seeing large schools of perch, although he says they appear beefier (from 6" to 7"...think of all those grams of flesh).
