  1. I actually saw this "advertisement" on the board. Why oh why aren't they using THIS logo??
  2. I don't see why we would need to keep Tiger out. He's the de-facto choice of everyone. It just makes the other four picks that much more crucial.
  3. If you're gonna do something like that, I think Din's current avatar of his Brown would be a sweet pic to use as a logo.
  4. lol Not sure if it's a glitch in my computer or not. But it seems that this Forum of "General Chat - Not Fishing Related(NFR)" has a nice new look. You guys just testing it out, or should I stay off the acid?
  5. Count me in. I'll PM Mike my pics.
  6. That completely sucks. I hope you get it rectified, and soon.
  7. I hear that the Little Smoky is the best stream in Alberta for Grayling, but that might be a bit far North to travel to for a day of fishing. Up near Fox Creek.
  8. Very cool. Appears that the storms have moved north for the evening towards Red Deer.
  9. Now that's just some sh!tty @ss luck.
  10. Wow. Really? Did someone HAVE to invent that? Really?
  11. Well, I was skunked this morning, but I didn't go to my usual spot. Went somewhere closer to home. Sure won't do that again. And so far, I haven't had the chance to make it out in the evening. Working nights until 9:00, and having two young kids and a wife at home, doesn't make getting out in the evening all too easy. Probably didn't answer your question, but hey, there are others who will likely do a better job. lol
  12. That thing is just a BEAST! Nice job Frank!
  13. Nice! That's a gorgeous brown.
  14. I took the Basic Fly Fishing Course through Country Pleasures, and I can second this statement. Awesome course, taught by none other than Jim McLennan. Liked it so much, I am taking their Intermedate Course, Listenting to the Bow, next month.
  15. That's just disgusting. Really. Awesome.
  16. I do beileive the fine folks at Fish Tales (a site sponsor) deal with Islander reels. Give them a call, I am sure they can help you out.
  17. There's an article in today's Herald about how Dave Tippett would be a good replacement coach for the Flames (provided the rumor about Brent Sutter being just that, a rumor). How cool would it be for Calgary, home of the Bow River, to have a coach named "Tippett". lol http://www.calgaryherald.com/sports/hockey...8937/story.html I figured a bunch of Fly Fishers would enjoy the play on words.
  18. When I first started Fly Fishing last year, Mike was nice enough to offer to take me on a float down the Bow in his jet. Super guy. Caught my first on the fly with him and Chris that day. Some really nice browns you guys got there yesterday. Great work!
  19. Those are some seriously awesome pics Din. Nice work!
  20. Hi Sallinger, Welcome to the board! As a former spin caster myself, and also fairly new to the sport. If you haven't already received some basic education in casting, presentation or other fly fishing skills, I would highly recommend taking a beginner fly fishing course. Helped me TONS in my learning curve. If you have some basic understanding already, then maybe take up an intermediate course. I am sure you will see it is time WELL spent. Cheers
  21. As long as they take Horcoff in exchange, I'm all for it.
  22. I find the times that my tippet breaks the most, is when I pull a new length off the spool. Any of the "tag" end that was exposed from the spool I find quite brittle. I've gotten into the habit of trimming it down past that point to recuduce the breakage. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Usually the second effort is just fine.
  23. Killer fish Jay. Nice pics.
