Mind you the 390 Z does have the nuts of most 5wts great shots glad i was there for most of those that spider was massive, the insect to the left is a grasshopper we dropped into the web, not a big grasshopper but it was an inch long. A higher end rod will give you less weight, and a more sensitive feel. If I had a 6 and was looking for another rod it would between between a 3 or an 8. THe 8 can be used for hucking big streamers for bullies or the 3 can be used for small creeks. Fishing the 3 in the foot hills is a blast, you get great dry fly presentations and you can still cast smaller nymph rigs sans indication. Plus when you hook a juvi bull at 24" it's crazy.

I dont know if it is the right approach but I kept casting thru last spring when I got hit, I started single hand spey casting so it didn't hurt as much and then the pain magically disappeared after a week and I've never looked back

dude get out there and fish the bow is great in the winter and there is not many guys fishing it..... it's a great time to cut your teeth

Winter bites I like the light of the sun breaking through the steam coming off the water, the picture reminds me of the rewards one is given when they brave such a day, cast 1000 times and battle the frost bitten fingers to just have a chance at a winter bull.

well just back tonight and yes the falls is the place to fish..... when it's not frozen solid. I was there for 8 days and not a day of work completed, our shipment of supplies couldn't get into the harbour so we were sent home. I did have enough brains to take a travel tying kit, just in case I had time..... and time I had I tied up over 400 flys..... I maybe going back next week or in june if it is june I will fish

Bad news for you, I've had telus tv since beta and "wild" sucks it's mostly hunting, only fly fishing show is Sportfishing on the fly, fishing with the dodger is on and fishing alberta. I am hoping that Telus gets on the WFN bandwagon next year
