  1. I have been in the north for the last 5 months and I plan to drift when I get home. I'll run the city section because the ice shelves are usually smaller. Mind you when I see the river I may change my mind
  2. eye surgery??? Laser? where did you go, I have a consult and tentative surgery with Lasik in march
  3. I wasn't Iggy has never had anyone to play with that can feed him pucks the way nash and crosby can.
  4. The pics of his injurys are really unsettling.... I'm sorry I wasn't at my buddies house to help him out
  5. 30% of all anglers are fishing illegally in one form or another.......... That's fd up if that's not a call for more enforcement I don't know what is
  6. Wayne you may want to try the 6100-4 as well when you look at another stick.
  7. Thats a lot of gear on a rod, why wouldn't you just buy a combo that balances. For the cost value and extra wieght I can't see I'll use one. For some it might be a god send.
  8. I with Tungsten on this one the 390 Z Axis has an amazing amount of power. I love the 390 I used it some this last season and it is a treat to cast, even better with a large cutty or a juvenille bully. If you went to the 390 you could still get a 690 don't think they are to far apart
  9. I dumped all my 2 piece rods this last season. With the advances in ferrels (sp) we have seen in the last decade I would never buy a 2 piece anymore. Having a 2 piece is fine if you don't hike through the bush but once you use a 4 piece you soon see the space saving advantages Jay
  10. The Death Stars are crazy sticks, they are powered by anger. I am very tempted to get one this season but with some many Z-axis' and so little time I don't know what I'd get....... maybe a 5
  11. Thanks Show Goers, I got to meet a few new people this year, got to cast bunch of new sticks and had an all around good time. Thanks to all that came by the Sage/Redington/Rio booths. If any of you want to cast a Sage, if I have it we can meet up on the Bow for a few swings. Thank you Jay
  12. walker, I am a Pentaxion.... I used to only shoot SLR or DSLR, i was amazed at the photo and video quality both above and below the surface of teh W80 and I haven't looked back I several buddies that own the camera and never a cpompaint Jay
  13. To loosely quote a book I once read...... let those without fault cast the first stone everyone deserves to learn and mature from a mistake
  14. I don't know if it was a poached kill..... reason being any time I killed a moose I keep the ribs. I also throw the legs by the wayside as there really isn't any good meet there
  15. I've always wondered that myself, think of how much goes into west coast rivers where bottom bouncing with 2"-3" of pencil lead is the norm. 20 years ago when I bait fished there were many days where I would lose at least 2 rolls or around 3lbs multiply that by 10,000 anglers on a weekend.
  16. I ll be at the show for all 3 days in the Sage/Rio/Redington booths come by and say hi. Tell me your wicked fish stories of fall and winter as I have been trapped up north far to long
  17. I thought the line would feel like it hinged at the loops but it casts very comfortably
  18. FNG wait until the show and cast a few lines I am sure if you go by some booths there are demo lines? Bring you Launch test drive some stuff
  19. Pipestone.... Sorry to hear about your bill. I worked for telus dealers for years including the Group Connect Ltd. Both "Telus" stores in Market Mall are owned by Group Connect Ltd. How far up the chain did you go, at the retail location?... Perhaps PM me Jay
  20. turned out great, good video buddy and i like the title
  21. I question if it matters, your fly tying material all ready smells of something that isn't in the fish's food chain.... the dead animal it came from, the cleaning/tanning agents used, the dye, the hands of those that put it into the bag and the bag. A little smoke.... who knows. I wouldn't smoke while tying but aside from smoking in your house, i personally wouldn't be concerned. Plus there were a lot of anglers smoking and tying thru the 1920-1980s. I guess someone who is a smoker will have to run a test.
  22. Christmas as well, and I know a few others that got it, it's deadly the underwater video is going to blow your mind. I tried it out on the 26 and 26 with some good video clips. I think i will just shoot video as you can just pull the frames from the video later. The batteries burn up pretty quick in the cold, so I am going to buy some off of ebay this week $15 can for 2 batteries, you can't go wrong.
  23. My mistake I was commenting on the headwaters but after looking that's not the model i have
  24. I'm going to eat cookies from my good buddy 420..... they were made with love
