  1. Damn flames....Bertuzzi sure plays good hockey for a walking piece of crap
  2. Good covers were plentiful in the days of Hendrix and Cream. Now people have no respect. That Kid Rock mash-up of Warren Zevon and Skynyrd is disgraceful :$*%&:
  3. Good call! I got my little sister into a couple on Cataract with a fly rod, and the experience was priceless. It was like reliving the first trout I caught on a fly, a total blast.
  4. So the team that was 4th in the Western Conference in goals-for last year is now second last, ahead of only the Coyotes. The Maple Leafs are outscoring the Oilers (!) If they come back from this road trip under .500 it's time to fire MacTavish.
  5. I've learned that I can go a full year without setting foot in the Bow, and never be tempted to do so, and still manage to catch plenty of great fish within 5-40 minutes of my house in Calgary.
  6. I know it's early but it's pretty crazy that they're 4 points ahead of the Sens and only 3 behind Buffalo.
  7. I couldn't watch past the 2nd period, that was some boring hockey! I guess I missed out by skipping the 3rd.
  8. Unreal! I would probably drop my rod if I saw that thing on the end of my line.
  9. If anyone else is interested in this, head down to "The Inner Sleeve" record store in Marda Loop. They carry quality USB turntables at a good price and the people there really know their stuff. Better than buying from Costco as they will tell you all you need to know about the process.
  10. Well Roli was awesome last night, I was surprised. Boston has a good, fast team, they're fun to watch.
  11. Great thread! Here are some things I learned this past season: - Never underestimate smallmouth bass in lakes. They can be just as challenging as any trout species. - Grayling are a hell of a sportfish. They're pretty, scrappy, and they live in beautiful places. This was the first season I've caught grayling and now I'm going to be tempted to do some serious fishing up north next year. - I've found that it's important for me to focus on casting during every outing. There is always room to improve, and being a better caster makes fishing more enjoyable. - Fishing with friends is more fun than fishing alone. - The Elbow and it's tribs and side channels is full of surprises. I really enjoyed exploring off the beaten path this year and finding some awesome spots with memorable fish.
  12. Yeah Nilsson looks awesome, he's probably as skilled as Hemsky and he thinks the game so well too. I don't know what MacT was thinking, playing Cole on the wrong wing until last night - he looked dangerous on every shift till he was booted. MacIntyre was a great pick-up, all he needs is a couple minutes of ice time to make a huge hit or two and k.o. some unfortunate player in a fight.
  13. Yeah now your burn works I didn't think it was as bad a game last night as the score suggests. For some reason Garon has looked like a back-up again for the last 2 games. There's 3 points separating top and bottom in the division and plenty of time to get back to winning. Although this schedule might hurt them early, with only 3 home games in November and 5 back-to-back pairs of games.
  14. 0 and 2 actually, and still higher in the standings than the flames, with one less game played By the way fellow Oil fans, it seems like MacT has got out the blender and will be icing completely different lines Saturday. Nilsson will take Cole's spot on the top line, Penner will take Nilsson's on the 2nd line, and Cole falls to the 3rd line, and gets back to his natural wing. Should be an interesting night, Nilsson and Hemsky alone have more offensive skill than all of the Canucks forwards combined
  15. Yeah I read the article, but it's a silly comparison, like Shawn Horcoff vs. Sidney Crosby. I can't believe how many people voted Kipper.
  16. I can't imagine having shack nasties now, with all the great fishing I've been having on the Bow. Check out my catch from today:
  17. Funny article on the Flames website, "who do you want, Kipper or Luongo?" They're serious too. http://flames.nhl.com/team/app/?service=pa...rticleid=387990
  18. What a night for the Calgary penalty killing units. That hit on Langkow was a beauty!
  19. Kipper gets hung out to dry by his defense pretty often. Calgary's d-men are awfully slow. The tying goal on Saturday night is a good example of that. They got caught flat-footed watching the Oilers break them down.
  20. What a sweet weekend to be an Oilers fan. That win last night proves that we have entered a new era of Oilers hockey, this is a great team. The last 2 seasons of mediocrity are going to be long forgotten soon.
  21. I wonder if it's just coincidence that Kipper really started sliding after Keenan arrived?
