I live in SW Calgary and I find most or all my supplies at Westwinds or Fish Tales.

I love fishing soft hackle flies. I tie copper johns, prince, pt, and hare's ears all with soft hackles. Either with Partridge or Hen hackle. Those look great. If you're worried bout short striking, you could always tie in a stinger.

When fishin cuttie streams, sz 14 dry and small nymph dropper. Deadly. Bow River usually three nymphs or hopper dropper. Beyaaaah!

IMO Westwinds, Fishtales and Hansens have the best flys and are the best shops in town. They should be able to help you with fly selection.
