  1. Agreed, before i got my Simms thats what i had and great guys to deal with also.
  2. Agreed,maybe a pink Salmon.Just a guess.
  3. Congrats! Aunts with a drift boat now thats cool.
  4. One thing you should check on is where do you get them fixed, because its not if they will leak its when.
  5. Migratory birds is open but i believe hunting within 400 meters of the river is closed until Dec 1st.If it was a shot gun i doubt you would have heard the small BB's hitting the water and it wouldn't have sounded anything like a beaver tail. Now if it were a rifle that was being discharged and the bullets were hitting the water that would have made the sound you described(scary). There is no target shooting place in that area and is privet land as you mentioned.
  6. Thanks,any hits?
  7. Umm isn't it? I had to laugh because of the "20 places to drop a fly"
  8. Frickin low holers,I kindly ask them to **** off then smile like your some kinda freak. How was the vis. with all the rain?
  9. Calgary fasteners or Acklands will have it.
  10. Just need a little lip on the bottom to create some action and your set. I just use the heads from old spinners.Sometimes i even remove the blade's.
  11. Nice fish Pete,
  12. A friend has returned from an ocean trip and has given me a fillet of cod. I don't eat fish, can't stand it.He says its the best and doesn't taste like fish at all. My question is how should i cook this?I thought of just butter salt and pepper but if its fishy tasting its going to be wasted. So I'm looking for something to "kick it up" so it hides any fishy taste. Any idea's?
  13. OK i'll bite WTH is a griddle bug?Rubber legged stone maybe? And your saying a #16 caddis will hold up a weighted #4 fly?You got some kinda fancy gink or somthin?
  14. Geez thats a seirous look on your face, Its like Holy Shite look at the size of this would ya. Nice shots.
  15. JeBus thats nuts.I tip my hat to your dad for tagging along and making it as far as he did.I hope he kicked your ass for getting him in that position.
  16. Nice tie Doc.Is this a hint?
  17. Time of year and water conditions gives me a good idea of what to use and how to fish it.Usually my starters are worm #8 redish brownish color 12" flora (if waters clear) #16-#14 flash back PT then either small green or red or chrome for my last fly. I'll change my flies if i notice something that convinces me i should change.Like a flash in the water mid depth that suggests i should be emerging rather then drifting.Or i notice a large fish in shallow water. I'll also change my rig because I'm simply board of it and want to try something else even if it still working. A successful day for me would be to have caught a few nymphing a couple on the dry and some hard hits on the swing.Oh and also to out fish the guy I'm with.
  18. Awesome couldn't have said it any better.
  19. Agreed the RCMP should no the laws.If you would have called FW they would have told you it was legal, they no.#'s are suposed to be on anything with a 10HP or greater. I called the Strathmore RCMP once about 2 drunks doing donuts on the ice at Careland weir. They were also ripping up the road going down the hill. They had to call me back for directions to the weir as both of them were from out of province.
  20. I cheered for the Eskimos yesterday.
  21. Thanks,I was told once before about BND.I thought these were different but after a quick search i think your right.
  22. These are all over the shallows, what are they?
  23. Agreed there should be more signs for the none angling community, this would also make people who poach think twice. The #is on the back of your license.
  24. I no what you mean.I think.I have never casted a glass rod but i would assume its more like some of the mid to soft rods that i have. They load quickly and feel very nice. I have casted a 6wt line on my 5wt Z just to see how it feels.I found it to load quickly but it just didn't feel the same as casting a softer rod. Tungsten, starting to understand this feel thing.
