Steelhead are amazing.... Getting to know a small steelhead run and the holding water in it, is worth the time... Grown men can holler and whoop like little kids, EVEN when they are by themselves! Catching steelhead on your own flies is way better than getting them on store bought flies.. Steelhead are amazing...

And to whom was this letter addressed? Why, the powerful Municipality of Crowsnest Pass (population: 6000), of course! Unfortunately for Cardston, representatives for Crowsnest Pass were quick to pooh-pooh the notion, noting that not only do they unanimously oppose a ban on gay nuptials, but also that a ban would be illegal, as marriage is entirely federal jurisdiction. Yeah, all the way to the prime minister! Nonetheless, Cardston remains undeterred. In schools are [sic] children are being taught that same gender marriages are a ‘normal’ lifestyle. Our Council feels that the silent majority needs to stand and be counted in regards to this manner. Ah, you Cardston crazies. Crowsnest Pass shot you down, but with the Mayor of Cardston’s weight behind you, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish! Well, except maybe this… and, uh, pretty much anything else of significance.

well you make a good point, but fish smack crap all the way up the river and are OK. (jumping waterfalls on way to spawning creeks etc). However, if their protective slime coating is removed by something dry (dry HANDS, dry grass, dry rocks, laying on snow and freezing the layer off) etc.... then it's going to get diseased and more than liekyl die. It's better, yes BETTER for a fish to smack itself around a wet area like that, than lie calmly on a dry spot... it's also better where it is ......than in a soft mesh cradle either (as cradles can and do remove slime, though their better than a lot of other methods of handling). Only better spot for that fish would have been in a LARGE rubber net or cradle of some sort.
