Well that does it for me then....if it's CHUCKNORRIS approved, then it's good enuf for me! I think we may well just go invest in a Linksys if it's that good. I can't take many more online poker incidents. Apparently it's quite distressing.

You probably only remembered cuz you looked up his skirt.

The thread on Bannock Bread got me to thinking of the annual Christmas baking extravaganza at casa del Freeman. So....with 6 more weeks of daytime TV to get through, I better get on it. I have a few "traditional" things I like to make every year, but each year I look for new recipes - like to try family "heirloom" type ones. What were your favourites growing up that your mom made or right now that your significant other makes that you really, really like? Question 2 (and I'm trying to make a case here because I'm at the mercy of certain able bodied persons in this house that are allowed to lift my boxes of decorations out of storage, so try and help me out please...): is your house decorated for Christmas yet? If not, when? I'm sure that none of you guys have much say on when this happens because, when it comes to this stuff, we women o' the house rule the roost in most cases. Question 3 (as I am close to being able to consume alcohol again): when is it socially acceptable to get loaded on rum and egg nog? Question 4: What's on your wish list this year? (and, no, this is not an offer to purchase anything on that list!) Holy crap.....I better get lots of responses to this to keep me busy.....day 4 off work and I'm bored out of my freakin' mind.

Very cool...thanks guys. It appears I didn't do my homework well enough on this one - the higher end Linksys and DLink ones were not offered and I just chose what they had. When we mostly notice it is when playing online poker and gone all-in on a hand for first place. This is what has prompted the movement to something better. I know it's the router now - the hard connection doesn't do this, so I'm either gonna buy a new one or get the Telus one.

Fly..............................ing

that's jut plain crazy - not for the faint of heart for sure. I don't think, even if I did have the cajones to try one of those suits, that I'd even get within 100 feet of a cliff let alone 1. Imagine seeing something like that coming out of the sky at you. Wow. This must be the latest for thrill seekers. Those crazy Europeans think of everything! -
Should Fishing Guides Be Licensed?
LynnF replied to DonAndersen's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
That looks like it Don....or rather a reincarnation of the group that I recalled - and now that I think about it, it was the foaa. They were doing some good work - I wonder what happened, other than the name change. Hopefully this organization fares better. -

Should Fishing Guides Be Licensed?
LynnF replied to DonAndersen's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I could be wrong but I thought there was a movement by the FFOAA to get guides licensed some years back - more of a proactive effort to get it done before the government mandated it I think. Where did that get to? I think it should be so - for many of the same reasons that have already been posted, so I won't bother reiterating. But the #1 reason I support it is because of the increased usage of our in-demand, valuable fishing resources that are not just being used (or exploited depending on how you view this issue) by the locals anymore. I'd love to know the amount of foreign guide guiding days on the Bow last year vs local guiding days. I don't think I'd be surprised at the #. -
About 2 months ago we ordered a laptop and a Netgear wireless router from Dell. Got everything hooked up fine and registered with Telus (our ISP) and it works fine for the most part. But the problem which is most annoying is that the laptop tends to lose its internet connection quite often - for a split second usually - but it happens quite a bit. I don't notice it so much just surfing around, but if you're playing an online game it can cut you out and it's a pain in the arse. We tried another computer on the router and the same deal so we know it's not the laptop. We thought there were signal issues so we took the laptop downstairs to where the router is but still the same problem. I called Telus because I thought maybe I had to register the laptop with them or something and they said that that would not solve the problem. I've troubleshooted off Netgear's website and, honestly, this one just has me at a loss. It's not like it was a cheap router - we did research it among the selection we had and went with one of the more expensive ones (believing that you get what you pay for). But it's kinda useless to have this setup if it's not a reliable internet connection like we have downstairs with our other computer that's plugged right into the ethernet box. I guess failing all else, I can get an "all in one" box from Telus that will probably fix the problem, but I'd hate to throw money out the window without exhausting all my options with this router. Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

That's OK.....I'll call CHUCKNORRIS if he ever gets out of hand. Or Taco. That Chuck application is probably the best Facebook one since The Family Guy, but not Scrabble. Today's quote was Chuck Norris runs on batteries - Die Hards. I wonder who thinks this stuff up - some of it is pretty freakin' funny.

Thanks Rick. And no drugs here.....had my last hit of morphine 5 hours after surgery and nothing since. Got no good "Lynn is on drugs" stories, sorry. I have a high tolerance for pain....comes from living with Mike for over 10 years
