Wow.....what a lively thread Taco....you and me both. Maybe they should set up a portable nursing home for you, Me and Mike. Oh...and Clive and Al if they show up

Wow....real interesting. Interesting about the smaller flies in faster water...I've always wondered if it was most effective to be fishing a size 16 prince nymph in those fast runs. Now I know. I've always wanted to do what that guy did....really gives you tremendous insight into the life of a fish - as his article proves.

What Ever Happened To That Russian Guy?
LynnF replied to snakeman's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
hmmmmmm.....whatever happened to Jokey???? -
We have 2 "rules" for vacationing in Mexico: 1) We don't go anywhere without the 3 of us together - except to the bar within eyeshot 2) We are always polite and courteous tourists, even when avoiding timeshare salesmen We stay in the "resort areas" which are inherently safer than, say, staying downtown PDC in a condo (I believe, anyways). We will also not go back to Cancun. Primarily because it's too busy and touristy now. And with that comes the risk of what is going on now. But put it in perspective - I still consider Mexico to be a safe destination. The recent incidents are unfortunate, but statistically speaking, there's nothing that won't stop me from going again in a couple of months.

Think this will slow down the population surge? If it wasn't so friggin' true, it'd be funnier, NEW rules for entering Alberta : 1. Bring your own house. 2. If going to the Oil Sands, bring your own house, school and hospital. 3. If going to Edmonton , wear your flak jacket. This is the murder capital of Canada . 4. If driving to Edmonton , it is also the auto theft centre of Canada . 5. If you are bringing drugs, head to Fort McMurray , the drug capital of Canada . 6. If you are looking for work, look no further. Average wage is $15.60/hour. 7. If you work downtown, parking costs $15.00/hour. 8. If you are able to buy a house in Edmonton , or Calgary , why not spend the money on a 15 year holiday. 9. If you drive a Hummer, look out. We have the highest gas prices in Canada . The Alberta Advantage. 10. In Edmonton we have 5 hospitals. 10 years ago we had 7. Don't come here sick. 11. In Calgary the population has exploded. The last road was paved 12 years ago. Calgary is a no parking zone. THE NEW RULES FOR DRIVING IN ALBERTA : 1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name, it is: 'CAL-GREE' and 'ED-MIN-TIN'. 2. The morning rush hour is from 5:00 am to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 8:00 pm. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning. 3. The minimum acceptable speed on most freeways is 130 kph. On Deerfoot & Whitemud, you are expected to match the speed of the airplanes coming in for a landing at the airport. Anything less is considered 'Wussy'. 4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. We now have our own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second. However, in the suburbs, SUV-driving, cell phone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way. 5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot. 6. Never honk at anyone. Ever. Seriously. It's another offense that can get you shot. 7. Road construction is permanent and continuous. Detour barrels are moved around during the middle of the night to make the next day's driving a bit more exciting, but nothing ever gets finished, and more construction starts everyday. 8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, skunks, dogs, cats, deer, barrels, cones, cows, horses, cats, mattresses, shredded tires, garbage, squirrels, rabbits, crows, and coyotes feeding on any of these items. 9. Deerfoot, QEII, Hwy 2, Calgary Trail, and Gateway Blvd are all the same road. 10. If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been 'accidentally activated.' 11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 110 in a 80-90 kph zone, you are considered a road hazard and will be 'flipped off' accordingly. If you return the flip, you'll be shot. 12. For winter driving, it is advisable to wear your parka, toque, fur lined mittens and mukluks. Make sure you have a shovel, food, candle and blankets in the vehicle, as snow removal from the city streets is virtually non-existent until the spring thaw

Looking For A Concert Buddy

Darthwader...that's a great nic! You wouldn't be related to Max the Jedi would you?! Oddly enough, judging from the last time I saw CS in the summer, if you're there wearing waders you really won't stand out too much at all. I must be getting old...some of the things people wear.... As it turns out, myself and the Strange Lady will be attending the soiree together. I won't tell you how you'll be able to notice us. But trust me...you will -

that's cuz his liver is so pickled it takes care of the rest of his body -
Wow....I never really thought about it before now, but I think Dave really might just be a whore I think that about sums it up Rick. I'm surprised that global warming never made it in here with the talk of cold weather fishing and warm weather drinking and whoring.

Ya.....it's more of a young folks' band But you'll be my first call if LZ starts touring and I get some tix! -
I have 2 tickets to Collective Soul at Flames Central on February 6th at 8:00 p.m. I'm looking for somebody to go with likes CS, that can appreciate the music and the concert. My other concert buddy can't make it and it's not really Mike's bag and I don't want to make him go, even though he will if I don't find someone else, God love him. If you're interested, PM me. Thanks.

It sure does LS....we were considering NV and Cabo seriously. Had friends that did Huatulco last year and said the resort was amazing but not alot to do yet and the weather too hot and humid in January! So....I'm gonna go with my gut and go back to PDC. Might as well go to something where we know we'll have a good time. Thanks for taking the time to type that. Wow...this has turned into a great threadjack. Once again.

You read my mind Taco - that's why I'm asking now

Gheez Dave....I just wanna know if you're going to the Pacific or the Riviera side, what hotel you're staying in and who you booked through....not who you have hot tequila-induced sex with I'm not being nosey - just thinking of doing the Pacific side this year as we've been to the Mayan Riviera (Playa Del Carmen) 3 times now. Just from everything I've heard, the Pacific side (Cabo, PV) just doesn't compare. But it's a shorter flight and it's a bit cheaper so I'm willing to consider.

OK....everybody that is going to Mexico - I want details. Please. I'm living vicariously right now.....

Bugger!!!! When and where are you going? We've "delayed" our mid-January trip to sometime in Feb/March. I'm so wishing we didn't now.

For The Young Parents (and Granparents) Out There

Trust me LS...there are WAY more than 892 reasons not to have kids. But on the right day, there are even more than that to have them. -

Guess I won't share the story of when my oldest was 3 months old and I had to give him a suppository because he hadn't gone in 3 days. The word catastrophic explosion doesn't even begin to cover it. Oh wait....I just told the story. Sorry LS -
One more thing - LF made me think of it. I think no matter what you do or don't do with accupuncture or laser therapy or hypnotherapy, the key is that your mind has to be open to the healing properties of it. I think if you walk in there under protest or are skeptical, it's not going to be as effective as it could be. I am a huge believer in the power of the mind and positive thinking. I'm livin' proof of that

God...what a bunch of whimps. It's not like they're changing and adult diaper for crying out loud. It's a little baby with little baby poop. Now barf....there's a different story. Bring on the gagging and wretching then -
Wow Flyangler...your comment about accupuncture anaesthesia is really fascinating. Somewhat related is a program I watched once about a woman who underwent hypnotherapy anaesthesia for an abdominal hysterectomy. The doctor cut through her skin, muscles and got right down to removing her uterus before she eventually showed signs of distress and had to be put under. After I saw that, I truly believed in the powers of hypnotherapy and such things. I know people who have back problems who get accupuncture on a regular basis and claim it keeps them pain-free and sane. I'd certainly give it a go, if I needed to. Dave - when I said I wouldn't hurt ya - I meant to add the word MUCH to that . I'd say if it's working for ya, then keep doing it. Who cares why.

I want stuff. I just need to know the "brand" you're using for hoodies first. Man, I feel like Playdoh's avatar today.
