This from a guy who, in past, inferred that he would like to, or has even, slept with one of his motorcycles. Pot - meet kettle. Buttttttttt I gotta agree here. For Christmas I'm gonna ask Santa to bring LS a warm body - that of a man. So she doesn't have to sleep with fiberglass and steel. Cuz no matter how you cut it, it just ain't right. Uh oh...the train just derailed on this one now.

.....and away we go...... -
Well....popular vote seems to be for the Castle area, but just remember there's some great random camping and a group camp up the OMR way. Plus for most of last year, the campground at the Oldman River was pretty much empty almost every weekend - including the longs. I only say this out of purely selfish reasons because (a) I don't like bears and haven't been to the Castle area in many years and I don't know that I'd talk the old guy into moving the trailer for the weekend so would likely miss this fun event (or most of it). However, you gotta go with the masses otherwise it doesn't work. So....let the chips fall where they may and we've all got enough advance notice to make arrangements to be there.

Hey...what better way to spend your wedding day than with sweaty, smelly, drunk fishermen?!

Well.....that would explain the commotion in McKenzie Lake....keep it down there dude....us folks in Douglasdale are trying to sleep!!!!!!!!!! -
You didn't get a chance to see our liquor cabinet in the trailer last year. Many selections o' rum for you Taco. And plenty of free Kokanee. But by then it should be skunky....so we'll just stick to rum mmmmkay?

Well....for the past 3 years I've been wearing Orvis. They fit OK...but like typical men's waders they're big in the waist and small in the hips. But they've served me well and been comfortable. However, since they're chock full o' leaks and holes now I'll be looking for a new pair next year. I got Mike a pair of Dan Bailey wading pants and they friggin' rock. But in order to get a size big enough for my hips, the waist is outrageously huge, so I can't wear them. I had my eye on the Cloudveils, but I would imagine same issue. I think I'm gonna spend the money and buy online and go for a women's fit wader this time and swear that I won't slide down the side of a canyon wall on my arse anymore. But if you're not into that, Orvis has really good wader sizing - they go like large, large short, large king....so they're really adaptable for different body types. HTH

Draw string? I think duct tape works better

Hey Castor, I'm not gonna get in a bitch war with ya, but I'm gonna beg to differ. I was on FFA for 9 years. And I've been on here for...what....6 months or so. If I had the choice between the two (i.e. if FFA was still around), I'd be here and not there. The ego's aren't here, but they sure were there and there were periods where I stayed away there because I couldn't stand all the testosterone. Only thing I see here are a bunch of guys who are very knowledgeable and skilled and who actually take the time, unselfishly, to share and teach. And that's something that should be, and is, appreciated - and I hope you will. Perception is reality, however, and I realize you won't change your mind about this. Just please don't come on here and turn this into another FFA war. This is a nice place to be as it is.

Remember Hammer Pants? I think someone should revive 80's fashion and make waders out of them. Makes the most sense of anything I've ever thought of.

We'd be in. Chances are we'll be parked up at Racehorse (or in the area) again next year if they don't decide to close the world and kick us out. Think about the OMR group campground if you're thinking down that area. Makes a lot of sense in many ways. Would be much fun! I'll bring the martinis.

Let's try to figure out who Fishhead is...I think I know. Anyhoo.....although I don't really have a desire right now to take up spey casting, I wouldn't completely rule it out as something I wouldn't do one day. I think it's one of those things that's all rolled up into the evolution of a fly fisher. Whether it be a fad or not for the large majority or small minority, it's something that some folks are doing that they are enjoying not only as a new skill but as something that deepens and enhances their abilities as a fly angler. What's wrong with that? It is a sport all about learning after all...and there ain't nothing wrong with learning a new skill be it dry fly fishing, streamer fishing or spey casting. Good on those who try it. And for those who like and it use it, good for them. And for anyone that gets all gassed up over this, I just gotta wonder why. And my answer to DBT's question would be that it seems to have a bit of a "fad'ish" quality about it right now and it's being talked about and hyped by a lot of folks on this board. You know that people will always flock where there's commotion (kinda explains the long line ups at the Tim Hortons downtown). I figure it will simmer down eventually but those who like it and are keen to continue on (vs living the "fad") will do so and have fun doing it. And that's what it's all about. Good question...too bad things went sideways there for a bit.

See.......now it's Christmas for me all year long. I spend too much all year, drink too much all year and have already had half a dozen fallings out. So Christmas is just like any other day for me But I couldn't agree more....seriously. We make a conscious effort not to do a whole pile of shopping for a lot of people who don't need anything anyways. A few years ago I started making Christmas craft type stuff and find that our friends and family appreciate the thought and effort that goes into that way more than a gift certificate to the Keg. That's how I try to keep Christmas in Christmas and out of the malls. Well....except for the jewllery stores

Watching "team Toolman" On Fishing With Dodger..

I'd like to nominate Mike as captain of Team Molson if this happens. I figure he's a shoe-in because he's got at least double the experience drinking than most of you -
In order to bring myself good luck, I'm going to say that I hope my biggest brush will be with Dean Roland of Collective Soul when they're here in January. If you hear of me dying in the new year, this is what happened. However, I have in fact met the following: Lead singer and bass player for April Wine, Colin James, Beverly Mahood, Lee Aaron (chick rocker from Toronto....OK...pushing it), Barbara Amiel, Dave Jensen (oops...typo). But most importantly and my biggest brush would be Clive Schaupmeyer - world renowned author and fly fisher. Oh ya...I did talk to Ian Turnbull and Mike Palmateer back when I was a young Leaf's fan. But I just said Hi....cuz I couldn't get anything else out. Mike had a few brushes, one of them last year fishing in the QCI....maybe he'll post on here HINT HINT FREAKIN' HINT.

Was wondering when you'd chime in here Grinch. Gosh...how many years have we been having these Christmas conversations huh? I'll pray for your Christmas wish....mine is much in the same as yours. P.S. I'm making gooey, runny BT's on the weekend....I'll mail ya some
