Why Taco..I have no idea what you're talking about Seriously.....the more snow the better. I can't take another half year of camping and fishing down south.

I thought Don Andersen was the curmudgeon. What could Taco be...hmmmm....so many options. How about Clive as the Photoshop President and RickR as Cute Indignant Texan?

Need Advice On A Rod/reel Combo
LynnF replied to bigalcal's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Al - why don't you just give me your money and save yourself the hassle of trying to decide? We've got our eye on one of those 4wt Sage Z-Axis jobbies. Talked with a guy at length at the FFE and think we might indulge before the season starts. I sure like Mike's XP - but the Z-Axis feels so great in-hand that I might be inclined to have another favourite. I used to be an Orvis girl.....I may be switching teams permanently now. Mike bought an Okuma reel end of last season and it's the bomb. I love the drag system on it and it sure caught it's fair share of Bow River trout . We'll have to get you out in the boat this year and pop your Bow River cherry. -
Well...now Dave has another job. If y'all get ornery, he locks 'em. If y'all are off topic he moves 'em. He's the boss of us you know.

My Kids Want A Puppy....

hahaha Clive....it must be cold and snowy. Here's how you start MBT: "so honey, were you ever a fan of the cartoon Rocky and Bullwinkle?" or "let me have a moose or I wear the shorts the guy wore in the first scene" -
I hope it snows mammoth proportions from February 14th to 23rd.

That's not true Taco.....if Flash were here he'd prove me right.

Looking For A Concert Buddy
LynnF replied to LynnF's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Well...I don't think Tiana is much of a cougar YET, but I can say that this old girl is damn TIRED this morning. Didn't get home until 1:30. Concertgoing is a young kids' game - you can have it. We old folks need our sleep. Despite the awful, terrible, crappy, LOUD opening act and the crappy overcrowded venue of ignorant people, the strange lady and I had a great time (well....at least I did, I shouldn't speak for her!). I love CS - all was forgotten by the time they took stage - albeit 3 hours after the doors opened. Their concert was great. And my date was pretty fun too And, no, I spared the public at large and did not break out the Spandex -
I have a sore throat from how loud I screamed last night. And Hayden sure let me hear about how I kept him awake too. I think even my dog is nuts. That was some ending to a brutal game. Glad I didn't turn it off. But I knew when Iggy and Jovanovski when at it, that it could end up interesting - and so it did! Look out Edmonton on Saturday!

LS - I have a copy of the corporate ask letter - PM me your email addy and I'll send it. Or...I could burn it onto a CD and bring it tomorrow night -
Absolutely. Goddard got a game suspension. How is that friggin' fair?!
-
The whole team let Cujo down. They need to put him in net tonight. And Edmonton better watch out Saturday night - we all know what happens when the Flames get a whoopin' like they did last night. It's gonna be a good'er.
-
That was very funny! But sad too - even Lego guys can tie better than me

Well...in light of the flu situation, I'll save you from my standard birthday greeting as I know it will just make you realize what you're missing. So...just...Happy Birthday and many happy returns of the day to you. Wow...that was kinda boring.
-
Hey Val - I'm the blonde that bought that wading staff from you. Nice to meet you - and I'm glad you had what I've been looking for for more than a few months!
-
I am not already in Mexico - hence my bitchiness. And better in your stomach than on my hips. Besides A. it is always courteous to leave behind leftovers and B. I don't have anything that is not Weight Watchers friendly in my house right now. As for your extra clothes see Item B. - I've got a bunch I've outgrown that you can have. You might get some funny stares walking around in a skirt though
-
Phew....good thing it's 90.5 degrees in Mexico. What a coincidence...we're headed there!

Any more pics of me that find their way on this thread is grounds for some kind of punishment yet to be determined, but I have a very looooong memory!!!! Speaking of doing this again - what was eventually decided about the summer campout? Did I just threadjack?

This was Mike's and my first year attending the show and we didn't walk out empty handed. In fact, I'm surprised we didn't walk out with one of those new Hyde Drift Boats and a new Sage Z-Axis. I don't think we'll be making it through the season without a new one though - they're pretty darn nice rods. I finally got my collapsible wading staff that I've been after so I'm pretty happy about that (when you get to my age, it's all about breaking a hip you know). Got my FFC hat (it's mine and mine alone because Mike has a big melon and it doesn't fit him ). Plus something special - thanks again Dave, you're far too kind no matter what Chris says about ya Never being one to be satisfied with what I've got, I sure would like to have one those pink Islander reels...they are the shiznit (is that the right way to say it Max?). I'd also like to take up spey fishing just to buy one of those reels...wow. I don't know what it is - it's all about the reels lately. Maybe I'll start a collection. Mike bought Jim McLennan's new book as I chatted up Lynda since it's been more than a few years since we've seen each other. Was very nice to catch up and to talk with everyone there who I usually only get to type to Was neat watching the H&H guys tying flies. That's something I wish I had the patience for, but know I never will. Brent - might come and see you when it's time to buy my new waders this season - sure like the looks of those Patagonias. Great prices at the Troutfitters booth for sure. Only thing I didn't get was the pair of polarized sunglasses I've been after since I bought Mike his for Christmas. But I'm sure I'll live to shop another day All in all - a really neat way to spend a few hours on a blustery, cold winter's day.

That was a lot of fun. Thanks for the hospitality Rick (and to your lovely wife as well whom I look forward to sharing that bottle of red with in the summer!). Nice to meet everyone there!
