Is It Warm Enough To Wet Wade The Bow Now
LynnF replied to Fisherwoman's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
You are absolutely right! My hands are wickedly dry and gross for 2 days after I fish the Bow. And I"m sure I've done all of the above. But I've also stood in the Bow in a pair of Columbia pants figuring I was OK cuz I was covered up, but then wondered why the scratch on my leg that was almost healed got mildly infected a day later. Coincidence? Me thinks not. All the crap that goes into that river - I won't be taking that chance again - it's waders for me. And it gave my old dog a wicked rash whenever he swam in it too. But he didn't care as much as I do LOL -

What's in a green onion cake? I like green onions. And cake. -
OK...so OJ's lawyer says the guilty verdict was "payback". I coulda seen this one coming a million miles away. Had the discussion with Mike this morning about what he/I would do if we sat on that jury. In the face of any credible evidence to support a guilty verdict, no matter how small, I would absolutely have voted to convict him. I absolutely would have been biased no matter what I claimed when being selected. I don't know how I couldn't consider his past crimes no matter how much I knew this case was a case unrelated. I don't know how any normal citizen could. What would you have done?

Ewwww.....even at 35 degrees on an August day, I would NEVER wet wade the Bow. Maybe in Canmore, but definitely not below the city (i.e. the POO plant). There's a reason you see most anglers in waders even if they're naked from the waist up MAX. -

Ahhh yes, the thread is now complete with Clive's addition of a picture-from-his-collection-of-many. We need a separate thread to house all the pictures that deal with lame and gay threads. Mike's cooking killer Jambalaya for dinner tonite - anyone want the recipe? I like Jambalaya. -

He was great in '04 when the team wasn't, but since then he has been beneficiary of a very good team in front of him. This isn't bandwagon jumping - he did not play well last year for the entire year (starting with a string of losses in pre-season that carried over in to regular season). As far as I'm concerned, the team carried him - .906 save % isn't going to get it done. I'm a HUGE Kiprusoff fan but, admittedly, he frightens me. He was a wildcard last year - you never knew what you were gonna get out of him pre and early season and then, as if by magic, he got his game on after Christmas. He certainly wasn't the rock steady goalie of '04 but I don't think his time is anywhere near done (better not be with the remaining years he's got on his contract). I think he's got a few winning seasons left in him - he just has to get his groove faster than he did last year. There were some games where I just couldn't bare to watch - I hope it's not the same this year. -

Ya Ya...preseason....bla bla. You Canucks fans are killing me. It's gonna be a funnnnnnnn year!!!! I will predict one thing about Bert - Keenan will sit him on the bench more than once this year. Either because of his penchance for milling around the blue line and not backchecking or because he likes to take a few nights off. That's one thing I admire about Keenan (and I'm grasping at straws here because I haven't found a fondness for him as coach yet) - he won't hesitate to sit players when they're not performing - no matter who they are. -

Let us all not comment on last night's game...I've endured enough already. -
Don't expect too much from this guys. This list is ONLY for the companiesthat have your # because you've done business with them and for some charitable organizations. It's not gonna stop all the "you've won a free cruise" or "we're calling from credit card security". Those are most of my calls...and other than an unlisted # there's no way of stopping them. Those are the ones that need to be stopped the most. It's like phone spam.

Where Do You Take Your Vehicle For An Oil Change?
LynnF replied to birchy's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Old car and Mike's co vehicle - Mr. Lube. But once they tried to hose me by suggesting a change in air filter (I had just done it - did it every fall after we were done driving the gravel roads) and a bunch of other things. I kinda got the impression that they seen me coming and gave me the "naive woman" spiel. I didn't like that - they almost used intimidation tactics about tranny fluid, brake stuff etc. and what would happen if I didn't have that stuff looked at. I finally just told them to cram it and just change the oil. At the end of the day, for what I paid there, I should have gone to the dealership. Now that I own a Saturn and see the benefits of taking it to a dealer, I will. They will wash my vehicle and fill up my fluids for free! The price difference can't be much of a factor and I'd rather have the guys that know what they're doing with my vehicle, work on my vehicle. Plus the service dept. at Hyatt is the best I've ever encountered - a great bunch of guys! The thing that I like about my new vehicle is that oil changes are only every 12,000 kms. Unless I get my monthly report and it tells me to do otherwise. I had to go every 5,000 before - anyone else going more than every 5,000 kms? Is it the new type of engines they're putting in now? -

I look forward to how much the Canucks are going to SUCK this year...and the ensuing fun I'll have with the husband when they do Iggy, Bert and Langkow - that's the line to watch this year. Have a feeling something is brewing between Kipper and Keenan though - guess time will tell on that one. I CAN'T WAIT until regular season.....Flames are going to have an outstanding year. And, Dave, come on. Toronto? I grew up there and I won't even vote for the Loser Leafs. Good God.....have some pride man. -
I've never been hooked but I've hooked - wow...that sounded wrong. I cover up pretty good with a hat, glasses and scarf around my neck in response to the question "how'd ya like a big streamer in your jugular". The thought makes me queasy. Got my oldest in the head (right after he got a buzz cut to boot) with a stonefly - back in the days of barbs. Got him in the cheek too - he learned what was the backcast zone after that one. Got my youngest in the chin and in the ear - he still hasn't learned. He just doesn't go fishing with us anymore
-
I have nothing to add except: yes, you are getting old LOL I'm kidding. Sheesh...I better watch it - you're gonna see me coming through TD Square and take me out the next time LOL

Somebody had too much coke that morning. And I don't mean the soft drink either. Wow.

Holy sheepshit...that's outstanding! Question: how much more rewarding would it have been had it been an official vs a personal record? I'm always curious about how different anglers view this. -

I'm gonna let you all guess how fun Saturday night music night is in our house: Mike's CD (IPOD): Ron Sexsmith Sunny Terry and Brownie McGhie Leon Russell Tom Russell Sailcat John Prine Fred Eaglesmith Arlo Guthrie Pete Seger Steve Forbert Omar and the Howlers Brett Dennan Manfred Mann Jimmy Buffett (let's get drunk and screw is the only song I like) Neil Young James Taylor (I did see him in concert and I will admit I do like some of his stuff) Simon and Garfunkel Gordon Lightfoot Eagles And any other obscure/folk artist you can think of Lynn's CD: Collective Soul Run DMC Gap Band Johnny Gill System of a Down Guns 'n Roses Soundgarden 3 doors down Nickelback Zappacosta Justin Timberlake Fiddy Cent Sean Kingston Soundgarden (whole Temple of the Dog CD ROCKS) Oasis And any other rockin'/thumpin' beats you can think of. Do we have the same tastes or what?! Oh...and forget the 8-track....the car I learned to drive on - a 67 Mustang - had a reel to reel built into the back dash. One day it was so hot the tapes melted...then we got our 8 track LOL -
Guy goes to see his doctor and the doctor tells him that his case is complicated and he's referring him to a urologist. Guy goes to see urogolist and spots her in the lobby - beautiful, young woman. He goes up to her office to wait for her. She walks in and says to him "I'm sorry sir, but you're going to have to stop masturbating". He says "why". She says "Because I'm trying to examine you".
