  3. Crap, for a couple bucks more go with the SA Headstart or RIO mainstream
  4. Will the structures also benefit the other non-native trout - BROWNIES
  5. Wasn't the first Durascrim rod the SP ( circa 1993-2001) then the SP+ circa ( 1995-1998). And "the movie" coming out in Oct 1992. I have 2 older SP that are great rods, the only rod better would be the ONE.
  6. I didn't notice any $$$$$ info on Down River Design's web site.
  7. My buddy just got a job at Bass Pro and he told me that they were hiring part-time in the fishing department. He said the pay starts around $11 an hour and you get some discounts on basspro gear.
  8. http://www.mclennanflyfishing.com/ Jim and Lynda McLennan began fly fishing together in the 1970s. Since then the McLennans have been teaching fly fishing, writing about fly fishing, photographing fly fishing, and making presentations about fly fishing around Alberta and beyond. Lynda McLennan teaches fly fishing schools for men and women, and was a founding director of Casting for Life. Lynda McLennan is a skilled photographer, and her work has appeared in numerous outdoor magazines, including Gray’s Sporting Journal and The Canadian FlyFisher. Jim McLennan was one of the original fly-fishing guides on Alberta’s Bow River, and was one of the people who brought Trout Unlimited to Alberta in the 1970s. Jim McLennan's magazine articles appear regularly in fly fishing magazines includingFly Fisherman, Fly Fishing and Tying Journal, Northwest Fly Fishing, Fly Fusion, Gray’s Sporting Journal and others. 9. My little email sent to env.minister@gov.bc.ca
  10. The Skeena Quality Management BS :$*%&: report is out: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/skeena/qws/docs/R...mmendations.pdf Proposed changes for 2011 are allowing resident only on weekends and even fri->sun in some case, increasing rivers to Class 1 ( $40/day ) and more lovely stuff. Better get out this year :derby racer:
  11. My 14 foot 9 weight spey is great for salmon/steelhead fishing but just way over gunned for the the Bow. I was thinking a 12.5 foot 6 or 7 weight would be a better match for the Bow and will help to keep my casting strike ready for a fall trip to the land of Bring Cash. Which rods seem to be the most popular on the Bow? Thanks for the replies...
  12. i'd go with the zaxis 486-4 and the 690-4
  13. Another downside: you tend to go thru materials a lot faster!
  14. I like the "sharkskin GPX" on my Sage Flight and XP 6 weights.
  15. I beleive that most of the local flyshops that sell Sage also sponser this board. And maybe they dont want other rod reps bad-mouthing their products.
  16. If i went out and bought the latest and greatest Taylor Made driver i'm sure it would NOT help my golf game. But when you find that new top of the line fly rod that casts like a dream you just know that you are going to have a great day on the stream :-)
  17. I believe Neil Jennings has been running schools at CP for 27 years and he must have seen every bad casting style out there.
  18. Great idea on the trike, i'll have to try it. I have a playground at the end of my block and every evening there are punks, soccer moms, rednecks etc racing thru a crosswalk in the playground zone. When i try crossing with 2 dogs its a real pain in the butt, i generally give the drivers a 301 hand signal ( thats a 3 and a 0 for 30, and a single finger for how i feel about their driving)
  19. All wild east slope cutties taste really BAD ( so i've been told, as i dont eat them). Alberta should make it mandatory CnR on all wild cutties!! If you want a really yummy cutt, then head over to BC and pay your $20 :derby racer:
  20. Oh Nnnoo is Maxwell sick...... You can actually understand what Max is posting and no "dudes". Get well soon Max
