  1. I'd say that's definitely "skinny water" fo sho!! Love the one of the Tiger Lilly, as well! P
  2. Yes Adam, it was nice to met you to! Glad you were able to hook into a fish! Of the 2 flies I gave you, which one worked the pmd or caddis?! Any time you want to get out again, drop me a PM I'll show you some better water! Also there are quite a few guys on here that also live in Cochrane, as well! Cheers, Peter
  3. Of course you mean "inexpensive"! LoL! By the by, a "non-sponsoring" fly shop has the patagonia's on sale in limited sizes!! P
  4. Thanks Jay! I guess I mistakingly equated loading with speeding up or slowing down the action of a rod. None-the-less for me, Grande doesn't load as well as GPX, that being said, Grand roll casts better then GPX (longer head, I suspect)... P
  5. Not purposely wanting to sound like a jerk, but literally, close your eyes and pick a spot on the map and go there - walk up stream or down and give it a whirl!! Failing that, hit Fish Creek Park and you should be set. South part of the river produces more then the NW... Lots of reports on here so scroll through and get a bit of background info... Enjoy! P
  6. Jay, I always thought that Grand, like GPX was a 1/2 line wt heavier and therefore will load (read, speed up) a fast action rod better, not slow it down?! "The RIO Grand is one half size heavier than the AFTMA standard and features more weight distributed toward the front of the line to easily load fast action fly rods." P
  7. This time of year swing a "Skid Bitch"! P P.S. You might want to bring some clean underwear to change into for the drive home! LoL (when the big boys hit it can scare the $hit out of you!)
  8. And another reason to support the Stream Watch Program!! P
  9. Or WildRose, as they are pretty much the same (maybe even worse) Okay hijack over.... P
  10. Why not, if it's allowed, and if you are ethical and respectful about it, you are paying for that privilege through your licensing fee!! P
  11. Jared, What creek, where?! P
  12. Yeah thanks for the invite Steve! Glad I can be part of the club!! P
  13. No, you can keep 2 trout (cutties, rainbows, brookies or 2 browns if they are over 40 cm, or combo of one of the cutties, brookies or rainbows and one brown over 40 cm). There is nothing better then trout from a mtn. lake/stream, the meat is so firm! Way better then the bow river swill or warm water stockies!! Of course I would hope that you wouldn't keep any tiddlers or smallish fish just to keep them?! P P.S I have one or 2 every 5 years or so...
  14. Creepy in a very kewl sort of way!!
  15. Or patronize any of the FFC site sponsors!!
  16. Jay, I have gold on my 4 wts and like it, but they are med & med/fast respectively... I will say that the Grand on my 6 wt roll casts like nobody's business (longer head, I suspect)! P
  17. Stick with golf!! P P.S. J/K - I've been there Rick... Don't give up.. Just get back to your honey holes and it'll happen!!
  18. SA GPX for a fast action 6 wt (I actually have Rio Grand on mine now, just switched a month or so ago and I'd have to say I much prefer the GPX). P
  19. Never got the call steve'o!! P
  20. Yeah, same with one of our Macs (my iMac) I need to sign in every time, the other one (Deb's macbook) I don't, it started to happen with one of the previous Safari updates... I haven't been able to figure it out either... P
  21. I too... A HUGE difference between a newbie on the oars and a seasoned vet with 20 plus years!! The vet should be able to manouver a drift boat like nobody's business!! P
