I've been thinking about taking this on as well Rick...have some good ideas to help increase interest and productivity as well, we'll talk ..

MX1 .. this is a great place to get info and learn for sure, be aware tho, tales of a big fish are sometimes best kept to yourself without pics, sometimes even with pics .. nothing to prove to anybody but yourself anyway right...

TFO's have some good rods with great in town warrenty..

I own an outcast fish cat 13.0 (two man boat) and like it, know a few guys that own outcast and have yet to hear of any major problems, have also heard some great warranty stories. when it comes to watercraft I think its best not to go with cheaper models..prices will vary depend on options, aluminum/steel frame, dual/single bladders, i'd go with a minimum 1200 denier fabric. I've often though of this but have nothing to support or rebut, one would think the fish should be use to the waterfowl and pretty mush ignore their actions to a certain degree .. good question Tako

Brookies are indeed the best tasting trout of course enviromental factors play a huge role in taste of any fish .. IMO .. you'll want a big fish to do a good job with filleting and not waste a bunch .. doesn't really matter how you cook it, the key to good tasting trout is not to overcook it and this is a problem for alot of people when they first start to cook trout, as soon as the meat will seperate from the bone, its done. couple minutes a side in a hot frying pan will do the trick for trout up to 12" anything bigger I'd consider baking in the oven or wrapped in foil on the bbq or campfire like fishfreak or kfisher described. don't be afraid to try different methods .. and like barnes said, a little bit 'o salt pork ... mmMMMMMMMMMMmm .. - oh yeah - dammit now I got to go get me some trout for supper ..

5 and 7 are all I fish, I just got a 9wt "big stick" to see what all the fuss is about.

just was'nt happy with the way they looked, as opposed to long bouncy rubber legs ... biot legs I tend to leave for the smaller stuff.

no tape, I guesstimate. I have a benchmark set on all my rods, weather it be 18" to the end of butt section, 24" to the first eye..etc..my hands are 4"wide, finger 1" If need be I can get a fairly close guess but seldom do., I'll grab a pic of the fish against my rod the odd time if its a nice looking fish and post and say around 20 or over 20 but that will be the extent of it .. your not cheating anybody but yourself and in the process making yourself look like an idiot. but whatever

WF's more forgiving while casting a long line, can handle bigger flies & rigs such as steamers or mutiple nymphs but lack a little in delicate presentation. DT's are reversable, easier to mend, and present much nicer, but tend to be a little less forgiving casting. I used DT's exclusivley when living back east fishing salmon because of the reversable aspect, you very seldom have to cast a long line and the fact that your don't fish weighted gear
