Ahh spam.... spent one entire winter eating pretty much nothing but spam and mac n' cheese..... left more money for alkyhal n' lift tickets, the thought of eatin' either doesn't appeal to me much anymore.
In some systems bulls are now proven to be late summer/early fall spawners being basically done by the first week of October.
That said, I know of 2 tailwaters down here that I wouldn't mind seeing open to winter fishin'

I'd imagine it'd be more of a fire issue than anything. The problem with fire in the Porkies is that they can run northeast 60-80 km before they get put out.
