Compared to what? 4 yrs ago? 9? 15? I know one thing for sure, there are fewer cutthroat streams and cutthroat now than there was when I started to fish for them 47 yrs ago.
No jokes. See the MIA signature below? Thats how many brook trout I killed one stream in 5 trips this summer and early fall, last time in I was specifically targeting spawning brook trout for maximum impact. Why? Brook trout have completely expatriated the bull trout from this particular stream and very damn few cutthroats are left. The Quirk Creek approach works as far as I'm concerned. And no I ain't poachin'.

Lotsa spawnin' brookies around right now, they taste pretty good breaded and fried. I have no idea what they taste like raw, may hafta think about that the next time I thump another 20 or 30.
40 old n' hairy ears?? Pfffftt! Wait'll you're over 60 and have more active hair follicles on your ass than you ever did on your head....
Brookies are spawning on Willow Creek above #532, go harass some. The few cutthroat left need some help, the bull trout are gone so you needn't worry about steppin' on any bull trout redds.
Edit; BTW read the regs I have no idea if you can keep any
All depends on how many times they've been fished over, ain't gonna get many double takers on the L'stone or the Gap section.
Where'd ya catch that fish anywho? Cowboys and Newfies need dumber than average fish.
I'm more worried about guys who walk around armed because they're scared shitless about bears and cougars, they're the ones who are prone to shoot at noises. Ran into one the other day who was carryin' a bow and a rifle. When I asked him about the rifle while bow huntin' he said he always carried it while bow huntin' because it wasn't safe in the woods without it. Jumpy SOB.. he coulda climbed a tree in one bound when I warned him I was there.
Had a first for me the other day on Willow Creek, caught a spawnin' brookie with my bare hands. Wadin' through a shallow riffle and I just about stepped on a spawnin' pair and one beached itself tryin' to get away. Nice fish too, over 35cm.
Yeah sure, so did I and I waited for your call and waited and waited and no PMs or nothing so I went fishin'..
Nice fish BTW better'n anything that I caught
Oh the trials of the average metrosexual flyfisher, first it's estrogen in the water invertin' his manhood and now he has to worry about stainin' the inside of his Orvis waders from random DC current....
Is that the disappearing fork of the Ghost (the dry fork)? Only runs in higher water flows, the rest of the time disappears underground, pops up here and there in the water course, never any fish in it that I recall.
Jesus Jay.. pissy OFer here. What was that @ 1:50 of the second video? Best be brushin' up on your copy of Behnke's T&S, almost 2 million yrs between those two varieties.
Damn straight talk different specially when a Cajun runnin' buddy taps you on the shoulder and says "Lets get the hell outta here, left my hogleg in the car" Bit of an eyeopener for a wet behind the ears Canuck
