  1. Another great movie. Always nice to come down to the computer in the morning and find some new fish porn to drool over. Keep them coming.

Thanks for posting. Looks like beautiful water and nice fish. Just more water to put on the ever growing list. Keep on posting.
  3. Depending what lakes you plan on fishing some can very easily be fished from shore. During spring and late fall the weed growth has either not started or has died off. The fish are usually cruising the weed edges or drops feeding. Some lakes during summer can be hard to fish when the weeds are at their thickest. Other lakes that are surrounded by trees can making casting difficult but if the bottom is not to soft or deep you can always wade out a little ways. As far as techniques there are many different methods as in fishing rivers. You just have to find what they are feeding on and the best technique to match. There are some really good books out there on still water fishing that would help you out.
  4. Nice fish. Love the spots. I like how they come right down and continue right under the belly. Not sure I have ever seen that before. Thanks for sharing. Keep the pics coming.
  5. Yes. Show us the cutty. Need more fish porn. Don't hold back. Some of us are still iced over and snowed in.

Nice color on that brown. Good work. Glad to see your getting out. It's been months since I've been out and it is killing me.
  7. Nice pics guys. thanks for sharing. Hoping for a break in the weather soon to try and make it down there. Winter has been killing me. Has anyone else had a hard time falling asleep at night because all I can think about is fishing and planning trips for this summer. Glad to see you guys got on the water and got to scratch the itch.
  8. I feel the same way. They flash through so much action so fast it leaves you wondering what really happened. They flash through still shots add a short video clip a few more still shots and their done. It felt more like watching a trailer for a show that will be coming out later. I did like seeing a little fish porn though to help get through the winter. The camera work was also a little jumpy and he seemed to missing good stuff just outside the frame. Not sure if this would show up better in HD as I only watched it in regular. I also think it is hard to condense a cross Canada adventure into 22mins. Hopefully they only get better. I found the same problem with their DVD I bought. Camera work and editing seemed questionable. More amature or low budget. They do get into some nice fish though. I guess we will see what happens this week.
  9. Nice. Always look forward to seeing your vids. See any bulls that day. Looking at the size of the net on your buddies back it looks like he was hoping to get into a few. Keep them coming. Helps me get through the cold winters.
  10. Nice pics. One of these days I will get out there. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Now that's good service. I wish I could say the same for Orvis. I sent them a rod in August and they sent me a confirmation letter saying they recieved it Sept 9 and that it would be fixed. That is the last I have heard from them and still no rod. What is the average time to wait on a rod after sending it in? Do they make it so painful to wait that you just end up buying a new rod the next time and not sending in broken rods anymore. The rod was brand new and the whole cork handle came ungludded and pulled off. How hard is that to fix? Sorry to hijack your thread but the title "Just need to vent..." made me think of it.

    November Pics.

Great pics. Looks like you had a blast. Always good to prove the bait fisherman that you can catch fish without it. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Didn't see previous post. I guess you can stock them here.
  14. Saskatchewan also stocks Tiger trout. You could check with a hatchery there to see if you could purchase. I have fished for them in sask and they are a beautiful fish. Have caught them on buggers, evil weevil and caddis dries. I question whether or not the province would allow them to be stocked. You never know though. Worth a try.
  15. I think your wrong Taco. Orvisonly would never float anything through here. He would bounce a 3 nymph rig through here. You know, "chummin" the forum.
  16. Nice pics. Looks like you had a good year. Thanks for sharing.
  17. I think I would carry on the rods and reels. If they lose your luggage you can always fish in the same clothes everyday but you can't fish without rods and reels.
  18. Looks like you are doing just fine with the gear you got. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Excellent pics Clive. thanks for sharing.
  20. Wow. A truely remarkable fish. How old would a big bull of that size be? Anyone know.
  21. Thanks for sharing. Looks like some great fishing. Might have to spend a little more time out there. Might be out there in mid October in the Qualicum Beach area. Any suggestions for fishing around that time. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the reply guys. Glad to hear you have had good experiences with warranty.
  23. Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with Orvis rods. I have a brand new 8 wt that I fished twice when the whole cork grip pulled off the rod. I just sent it in 3 weeks ago and now the back end of the reel seat pulled off my 5 wt. I am not hard on equipment and always put my rods back in the tubes when finished fishing. It seems that the glue they use is just letting go. Anyone else having problems? Any experience with their warranty? I have not heard anything from them yet on the first rod sent in. I use my 5 wt TFO TiCr almost exclusively for the last 2 years and have yet to have a problem with it. I pulled out my 5wt Orvis to use once while I lent out my TFO and it comes apart. Go figure. Of course the rod that is easiest to replace never breaks.
