Nice pics thanks for sharing. I will get there some day. So was the fish in the first pic caught?
  3. Good stuff. Some nice shots there. I love good photography. Wish I had the talent and time to learn it. Site works great. Website and pics loaded very fast. Easy to get around. Looking forward to more pics
  4. I have an 8wt Native Run GLX I use for pike and it is great for tossing big flies and bringing in large pike. Mine is a 10' rod. I also have a couple 5wt streamdance rods that are great. G Loomis makes some nice rods in my opinion.
  5. The Source: New Zealand is great. Really enjoyed this movie and some nice fish caught. I have all three of the Source movies ( Tasmania and Iceland) and I think the New Zealand one is the best. Sounds like it will be a great event. Wish I was going.
  6. Great shoots beed. So many places, so little time... Thanks for posting.
  7. Awesome shots. Love that brownie. Thanks for sharing
  8. I don't think so. Had to reread the article because I missed it the first time. "A man in his 50's has died, after falling into the Bow River on Sunday." Very sad indeed. Thoughts and prayers for his family.
  9. I agree with what most people are saying. Go with an 8 wt rod. Never had a problem landing 20 - 25 lb pike. They can cast some big flies with ease. I think a 10 wt would be ok but a little over kill in my opinion. I know if I have the option I will cast a lighter rod over a heavier rod. Lots of options for reels. I have owned pflueger presidents in the past and really liked the drag on them. All depends on what kind of money you want to spend but you can get started for relatively cheap and have no problem fighting these monsters. There is lots of time before spring so I would look for second hand deals. This will get you in some quality gear at a fraction of the price. Pike are a lot of fun. Enjoy.
  10. Like them black and white shots. Good times. I think the guy holding the fish could be a hand model. I agree with you Heimdallr it is nice to see some different things being done with pictures.
  11. Hey Jeff nice pics. looks like a fun little tour. So much to explore down that way but a guy never gets down there. Like that sunset. Thanks for sharing some pics
  12. Nice pics. Love them brookies. Heading back home to try and catch one last trip with my dad before ice up. Looks like it's coming to an end for the stillwater fishing.
  13. My advice is to come and do my job for me so I can do your casting.
  14. Great pics. Thanks for posting. Perch that size would be pretty fun on a light weight set up. Nice bully too. Didn't get out much this season but a some good outings with Kyle (jksnijders) and a few memorable fish. It's going to be a long cold winter. Beed that fish in your avatar is ridiculous!
  15. Nice work. Beautiful down there this time of year and no crowds. Glad to see you got into some fish.
  16. Tie your own and use wire for the trailer. Only thing I will use for pike and it has paid off for me. Haven't had a pike break or bite through the wire yet and have caught a few beasts. Even store bought streamers can usually have the trailers cut off and wire tied in with a new trailer. Keep fishing with mono and you will keep filling your waders.
  17. This is out of the Brooks weekend paper. Good to see that some people get caught. It was the eyes of other fisherman and a call to the RAP line that helped catch this guy. Just a reminder that it does work so lets keep calling in poachers.
  18. nice pics. thanks for sharing. skinny water is always fun fishing.
  19. nice pics. thanks for sharing.
  20. Not sure what you are looking to spend or how good a deal you were getting on the TCR but I have a 5wt 9' 4pc XP that is in good condition. Light soiling on the cork that could probably be cleaned up. I would let it go for $350. It is a really nice casting rod and I am sure others on here that have used the XP would tell you the same. It is an option for you any way.

    August Long...

great pics. Thanks for sharing. Looks like the weather was nice too.
  22. Thanks for sharing pics. Looks like you had a great trip. Need to get down there soon. To bad those cutties mouths are getting so shredded down there. Fished Livingston two years ago and most of the cutties caught were missing part of their lip or it was ripped and hanging there. Can't see it happening with single barbless hooks.
  23. Nice fish. Congrats on the personal best. Looks like some nice water.
  24. Tigers are an aggressive and beautiful fish. I enjoy fishing for them. I would like to know if cost is the only reason they are not being stocked in Alberta. There are about 7 lakes in Saskatchewan that are stocked with Tigers. Seeing as how they are public lakes I would imagine that they are stocked through the fisheries stocking program. There yearly sask resident licence is about $5 more than we pay here in Alberta. Alberta has a population that is more than 3x that of Saskatchewan. I would think there is alot more money generated through Alberta fishing licences than Saskatchewan. So this makes me wonder how Sask can stock them in about 7 lakes across the province and Alberta can't do it in one. The only difference I see is that Alberta puts money into stocking Bulls and Cutties. Maybe this is where the money goes instead. I guess it is good that Alberta is putting money into restocking the native fish. I think there is probably more to it than the money.
