  1. Good to hear you had an exceptional time out while here!!
  2. yeah they have a rapid fire shooting mode for taking multiple shots in sucession, however you have to keep the button down to keep it going. The optio you just set it to the interval shooting, set it up some where and it'll fire automatically for like a min or until the card is full if I'm not mistaken. My avatar is a pic taken with the olympus night shot on with a full moon for the sillouette (with a bit of color editing)
  3. THat's pretty strange, you could use the knotless leader for dry fly fishing. but as for nymphing you may want to bulk up a bit.
  4. I have the Olympus 770sw and the only thing that I don't like about it is, it lacks the interval shooting that the Optio has. With the optio you can have it set up to take constant pictures every 2, 5, or 10 seconds (something like that). But besides that I pretty happy with the Olympus
  5. If am not mistaken I think that there are some hoodies and touques left
  6. One important detail to remember Scott is make sure you gear (boots, waders) is fully cleaned if jumping around watersheds. We wouldn't want to have any unwanted foreign water organisms spreading, same when returning home. But yeah dude if you want, keep in touch and maybe we can hook up on the 17th of sept.
  7. lightest I've have ever gone was 4x for nymphing but as Al had said there's nothing wrong with using 3x
  8. Hey all, By a lot of recent posts on the board there seems to me that there has been quite a few people just starting out fly fishing and taking on the sport and to all of you good on ya. But lets just go over one the primary unwritten rules of fishing "if you see a guy fishing a stretch of water don't walk 30' downstream and start fishing without saying a word" Last night I had this happen to me. I was fishing a very well know run and while I was rigging up after a break off I looked up and seen a guy and his girl looking down at me. I says how's it going he says okay or something along the lines of and then proceeds to walk down the bank and starts fishing with his girl. A simple "hey man do you mind if I fish the tail out or the head of the run" is all it takes. I don't mind sharing my water at all. But there is plenty of water out there to be crowding somebody's run uninvited, the bow is a pretty big peice of water. I did however did take pride into hooking into four or five decent rainbows while they were there and they didn't even get a sniff. And dude if you are on here and reading this next time at least give me a hello and maybe share a fly with you.

    Picture's

looks like two peices of string blowing in the wind!! *L*
  10. Nice report Brian, Going to have to head up there sometime for an excursion! Thanks for the pics and congrats on your firsts!
  11. Also you will need to throw weight into the factor, with the higher flows the water will be moving faster and you'll need that extra weight to get down

    Bait Fish

    Nice looking ties Mitch!
  13. The bottom two pics are pretty awsome Mitch
  14. I just place my vise in a plastic bag and roll down the sides, pretty easy clean up afterwards
  15. Hey Al, the girl has imediate family over in Ireland and will be going down sometime, by chance you near Roscrea??(SP?) or Limerick?
  16. *L* sorry dude! Next time man, Next weekend
  17. Goodstuff man! She'll be beating her ol man in no time! *L*
  18. Hey Rick nice fish dude! Yeah the water has been pretty murky. I was out today as well walking the banks and ran into a few myself Hit this one pushing 22" This one took a new type of worm that I've been playing around with roughly the same size and this one swinging a small bugger pushing 24
  19. The second day wasn't as epic, Head out again for another four hours with two hookups this time but nothing landed. The first one was lost due to a crappy rusted hook and the second I lost because I was looking down at my coat for my camera and the red took a run right towards the boat and spit me! So I'm definitely hooked now and will be doing that again!!!
  20. besides the fact that I lost quite a bit of blood because I'm pretty sure I hit a vein in my hand, I damn near passed out from pushing that damn hook out the another hole! Man that hurt!!!!
