  1. lol, I hear ya. Luckily I found a Maxwell to English dictionary on eBay last year and I can ussually translate what he's saying. Agreed that a guide is a great way to explore new waters. Sounds like it was a good trip.
  2. Agreed. I was reading a bit of it today. It's inspiring.
  3. That is a sweet looking kit. What kind of price tag does it have?
  4. I think someone needs to do some photoshop magic here.
  5. I give away quite a few of the flies that don't make it to my box to the Casting for recovery group. I just keep a box for them and send them off every now and then.
  6. Great shots and report DT. That Dolly is awesome looking.
  7. Right on Jeff. Great looking sticker
  8. Welcome to the board Kevin. You'll really love the area i think. The grayling up that way are awesome fish. You might want to head over to http://www.mountaincountryoutfitters.com/ for some more info about the local fishing.
  9. lol ok, I do tie a streamer called an X-1 that you can tie in pearch (firetiger) colours. Basically you can turn any hair streamer into a pearch by matching the colors.
  10. I've never used streamers for pearch, but nymphs do work very well. I would try some smaller wooly buggers and wooly worms for perch though.
  11. 2 dozen here. Looks like a pretty sweet pattern. It does look a bit stiff, but if you're bouncing it, I don't think that'll be a bad thing. Nice tie bro.
  12. There are a couple shops in the area that you could try. The Kootenay Fly Shop has a guide service out of it.

    Fishing Up North

Wow. Looks like it was a great trip. Nice sizes in those grayling and beautiful color in the fins. Were all your lakers caught on the fly? What flies and methods did you use for the Lakers?
  14. That's awesome! Great pic, thanks for sharing.
  15. Send off a PM to Birchy, he's worked some wonders for a few memebers who have hired him. Did they install windows on your removable drive? If so, that data may be lost, but if not, it's still likely there, perhaps the drive just isn't mapped or the drive installed yet.
  16. Exactly! I think that there are a few things we can all do to help each other, but this approach isn't constructive to anyone. Perhaps as a community we can come up with a collective "guideline" for some of the unwritten etiquette. Many people just starting out may not know what the proper way to handle a fish is, just out of inexperience, and if you have ever watched some of the "pro" fishermen on TV, you have an idea where they are starting from. Rather than reading the riot act and trying to shame people each time a fish is shown in a manner you don't agree with, we could simply direct people to the article. Brent, you seem to have put in some time researching the topic, so I'm suggesting that you could start us off. BTW, if you do get harassing or abusive PMs, please forward them to the admins (SanJuanWorm, Maxwell, Flytyer, LK2 or myself) and we'll take care of it. Everyone if free to express their opinions as long as it's done respectfully.
  17. Awesome series Max. I love the colours of those brookies! You need some tats though. lol
  18. Perhaps he'll make a difference in the environment and help improve fisheries? Devlin Mania!
  19. Wow! Killer crop of memories BH. lots of nice bullies and bows.
  20. Get her up to speed and then you won't need to tie yourself again!
  21. That one is flippin awesome Jeff!
  22. Ya, chuck and duck. The clousers in Chartreuse and white have worked well in the past. I used a Deep 7 line too to get it down quick.
  23. that's awesome, Welcome to the site.
  24. Last time I was there, they were taking the small white midges off the surface. Like Daves says, you'll want to go small on the dry to get any attention. I was using some simple griffith's gnats in 18 ad 20 that worked well, larger flies 14/16 were snubbed. For chironomids, I used a silkworm in size 16 that worked pretty good too.
  25. That's an interesting article, thanks for posting.
