Caddis Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Hi guys, I see the dam opened up to 200 M/sec, hoping to do a float either tomorrow or Saturday and wanted to know if anyone can comment on the visibility. Quote
Aphelps Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 About 6-12 inch vis this morning by Fish Creek Park. Should get better by the weekend if flows remain constant or decrease. Quote
TheBrownWhisperer Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Seriously dirty through downtown with most gravel bars almost completely submerged... Quote
bcubed Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 ya i'd be hard pressed to say 6" this morning on my bike ride, but i didn't go stick a toe in Quote
monger Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Elbow river is way up this morning. This must have opened the dam Quote
Caddis Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 Thanks for the reports guys. Guess I will have to re-think the float this weekend. Quote
bowriverboys Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Anyone been down to the river yet today? Looking to maybe cruise the banks tonight. Quote

scel Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Anyone been down to the river yet today? Looking to maybe cruise the banks tonight. I was out last night with the dog. It is officially high. And dirty. It is the first time that I have seen the water at the high-water mark in a very long time. But I also saw lots of fish activity in weird little pockets close to the bank. Visibility was about 20cm. Even though my dog was mucking around, it was the first time this year that he has not stunk like swamp. Quote
fishteck Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 The combination of Bow and Elbow River flows today was 230 CMS, double what it was a week ago. Your can see the 3 to 4 day Ghost & Bearspaw Reservoir discharge forecast on the Bow River Trout Website http://www.bowrivertrout.org and go to "River Flows". Expect to see flows in the 200 -250 CMS range until early to mid July. You will also find a link on the River Flows page to the AEP rivers app. Download it and you will be able to follow current flows, snow pack and advisories. Quote
