BurningChrome Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Thought I'd drop some of these here. I mostly do landscapes and fish alone, so no fish pics. This is a view of the Elbow in Kananaskis. Pretty amazing how much damage that one little river caused. And a couple of fishing-related pics. 7 Quote

Heimdallr Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Great photos. I particularly dig the B&W one of the chairs. Quote
BurningChrome Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Great photos. I particularly dig the B&W one of the chairs. I actually randomly found those along the Bow while walking my dog one day and had to take a pic of them. That's Edworthy park in the background on the left. Quote

BurningChrome Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Started carrying a good camera with me while I fish. A few randoms from Friday. No secret spots were harmed while taking these pictures. Was also down in the Pass yesterday and stopped at Lundbreck falls in the morning. Saw a couple guys rigging up across the river too. 1 Quote
fishinglibin Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 BC, do you mind my asking what kind of camera you are using? Nice shots. Paul Quote
BurningChrome Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 BC, do you mind my asking what kind of camera you are using? Nice shots. Paul I shoot Nikon full frame DSLR and Fuji mirrorless. The pictures in my first post in this thread are probably a mix of D600, D750, and D800. I'd say out of the three that the D750 is my favourite and the other two bodies will soon find their way to kijiji. In my post from earlier today the two pics of Lundbreck were shot on the D750 and the other three were on a Fuji X-T1. The Fuji kit is so lightweight while keeping incredible image quality that it's become my walkaround kit while I only shoot the D750 when I'm working out of the truck. If you're looking for a good camera kit, best thing to do is head over to the Camera Store and look around, tell them your price range and what types of things you'll be shooting and they'll point you in the right direction. I've always had awesome service from them and never got "upsold" to anything I didn't need. Here's some other randoms from the past few months. Mix of Fuji and Nikon, but I'll bet you that unless I tell you which is which you can't tell the difference. 5 Quote
Guest ArtVandelay Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Nice shots for sure. William Gibson fan? Quote
BurningChrome Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 William Gibson fan?Haha, maybe. At least one person on every forum I'm on gets the reference. Quote
Buck Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Nice captures sir, I'm like that one picture above the Elbow River devastation pic. Looks like a spot you went to specifically to take pictures or were you fishing along the way? I'd love to see what it looks like up there duringa sunrise/sunset with a bit more dramatic light. Quote
BurningChrome Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 Random pictures from walking the banks over the past while. (all the flower pics are for bobloblaw) Blossoms in the rain. Goslings with mom and dad. Something smells like wet dog. Pretty sure that isn't from an axe or chainsaw... Some more blossoms. The fishing dog in his natural environment. Note how he stays back of the bank in the long grass to survey the water looking for rising trout. Snake in the grass. Flower power! Yes, this was taken on the banks of the Bow today. Yes, I'm dusting off my fly box full of foam soon. 2 Quote
SteveM Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Good stuff, Marc! Do trout eat hoppers? All this time I thought I was just using those big ol' foam abominations to hold my nymphs up off the bottom! Quote
BurningChrome Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 Good stuff, Marc! Do trout eat hoppers? All this time I thought I was just using those big ol' foam abominations to hold my nymphs up off the bottom! They do not. You should just stick to a thingamabobber to keep your nymphs off the bottom and give all your hoppers to me so I can add them to my collection of unfishable flies... 3 Quote

BigFoamy Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Thats the best fly box of all time (SA right?). I have two of them, that one and the half size one. Water tight! Quote
BurningChrome Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 That fly box could never sink I use it as a PFD for myself. Thats the best fly box of all time (SA right?). I have two of them, that one and the half size one. Water tight! I think it's an SA or C&F (think SA distributed them for a while). I got that one from Simon Gawesworth a few years ago and it didn't have a logo on it, but it's identical to the C&F streamer boxes I have. Quote
BurningChrome Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 I love spending time in Crowsnest. For anyone who wants the technical info, Fuji X-T1 with 16-55 2.8 and 16 1.4. 1 Quote
