I thing it had been long ago.

You obviously don't fish police to Mac much....

Did Mac and up a few times, but to me made sense to go below. I know I am not the only one, but agree, too many with motors going up from Mac instead of down. I prefer down.

Never made sense to me to throw a boat in at policemens to battle drift boats all day, when you could put in at Mackinnons, motor upriver to the Mansion run first thing, and fish down the Jansens and never see a soul

With restricted access to the river at Carseland I think it unreasonable 17 th ave access is closed for no good reason. I would think its in the interest of fly shops, shuttles and other affected business to petition city hall.

Good luck Gil, we should have a public launch every 8k. I think it is easier to get private access rather than petition the city for mre access.

I wish we had access like Montana, which is pretty close to every 8k..

This is something I wish the ACA would take up. Strategic purchase of small land parcels or easements could open up hundreds of km of rivers spreading out pressure and also benefiting canoes, kayakers, and many other outdoor enthusiasts. I really like the set up they have on the Milk River (mostly for canoe trips/ tubers). Public access points with garbage cans, signage, and even some outhouses have been established meaning public access for the public waterway. Seems more valuable to me than the "enhanced" fish stocking program or a good portion of the university studies they've been funding (Almost all research is valuable, it's just odd how funds don't make it back to the resource in many cases). A public access point even every 20 km would be awesome on some of the rivers south of the bow.

It will be interesting to see the improvements they make this year. I joined the ranks of the jet boats this year it's going to be interesting to see how this effects traffic on the lower stretch. Might be nice and quiet. :)

Actually, I think having the lower stretch of the river only accessible will be nice for those of us who have tin boats and jet motors. If the motor boats fish the lower section, and the drifters fish the rest, this should reduce any conflict for a lot of fisherpersons. The river above should get let pressure from the boats (hopefully), while the guys with the motors can fish the many areas below without pi##ing off the drifters. Room for everyone.

Cheers

That'd be great if it worked that way, but there are far too many 'dudes' who would rather throw in at police, and play tag with driftboat for hours...

Really It is a matter of convenience if it's after work I'm launching my jet at police because its close. If I'm putting in a full day chances are I'll be lower. But from police to Mac there is some really great water that might be the " problem"
