My back and bod are getting too old for my crappy anchor system. Looking for a decent metal 30 lb capable bow mount with gunnel pulley set up. Having trouble finding one locally.. A friend made his own, but I do not have that talent. Any input is appreciated. :OO00OO:

It has gunnel pulleys and a cheap scotty bow mount, came with boat. Want metal bow mount with anchor mount pulley added on rope below bow bar to assist w less resistance. I see on net derks and hyde. May lean to derks with side mount pulley off back to take side gunnel rope feed. Was thinking of nephew welder to fab something for me, but may be worth just going retail.

If you can get an appropriate anchor mount, the pully system is very easy to do.

I just put a u-bolt off my anchor mount on my clacka, tied the rope to that point and added a pulley. was a 5 minute job.

Just bought a pulley at princess auto, but may want to upgrade the bow mount to a metal type. Cant really find a decent metal bow mount one in cowtown. If any suggestions, feel free.

You could try:

Bo's Anchor Release

(514) 928-8541

(Oregon)

I have a very old brochure if you'd like to look at it, send me a PM (work hours)

I dealt with them several years ago. Very accomodating.

Give these boys a try...dierksanchors.com they supply most anchor systems on your more common driftboats

Mine is a 16 ft crestliner Jon, but a dierks could be bow mounted. When I research, dierks comes up the most.

I was sick of pulling also, now I just push a button.

I had to drill out the rivets to open the bow area but overall not a hard job.

I have considered the minkota. Does it raise and lower the anchor at a decent speed?

Yes,on the river I only let out about 15' so no time at all. When I'm lake fishing 50' takes awhile say maybe 2 minutes but who cares I don't pull anymore!I have a 42lb anchor. It comes with a davit so you can mount it right on top,i think you have to use the minn. anchor though for it to work. You have to be able to take the weight off of the winch when not in use or the sheer pin will go ,if you have a heavy anchor.

Paul,

Yes it is. The installation is really simple, with some slight fabrication required(depending on how picky you are).

Feel free to have a look next time I see you.
