SilverDoctor Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Well after working for an corporation for the last number of years doing their marketing, ads, web, social media etc. and building their business substantially. Taking no holidays because of the volume of work. The young more money than brains owners son gets rid of me in favor of an ad agency who has been winning and dining him with free ski trips etc. Decided to do freelance consulting instead and control my own destiny, a lot of companies no longer seem to stand behind their staff like they did. trailhead Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Something similiar happened to me about 2 years ago. I'm working mostly out of home now and it ended up being very positive. More risky but more rewarding too. I sometimes think things happen in life for a reason and the old adage, that if life gives you lemons make lemonade is true. Good luck and go get em. Quote
danhunt Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 That sucks, but a company that treats it's people like that doesn't have a very promising future ahead of it IMHO. Best of luck with your new venture! Quote
