duanec Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 sorry man...that's tough. agreed it sucks. he stopped eating, they found a huge stomach tumour, prognosis poor. better to let them go as opposed to prolonging suffereing. doesn't make it easier though. Quote

fishinhogdaddy Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Sorry man. It's the toughest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I will be facing the same thing soon with my 15 year old. They give so much life and unconditional love especially when you have had a bad day. R.I.P. little guy. FHD Quote
Jayhad Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Man that sucks, only fished with him once but I thought he was a pretty cool dog. Quote
dekkard2019 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 I am sorry to hear that. It is a lot of fun heading out fishing with a great dog. They don't care how many fish ya catch and they will never give away your favourite fishing spot either. Hopefully you get the chance to meet another sometime down the road... Quote
flyfishfairwx Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Sorry for your loss, I know how hard that hits the heart. Quote
LynnF Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Been there with a loss too soon with a great fishing companion. I'm sorry for your loss....RIP to your buddy. Quote
SteveM Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Sorry to hear about Skoah, Duane. We lost our family dog early last summer; there's not a day that goes by that I'm not reminded of him somehow... (Of course, I see him every time I post on here...) Quote
fishinglibin Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 That is a shame, but at least dogs have the option to die humanely and we dont. I have trouble with that. My Bullmastiff had cancer, and as hard as it was to part with him, he did not suffer like many good people I knew. I look forward to another dog sometime soon, but maybe a smaller one. RIP to your good 4 legged friend Quote
fishinglibin Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 That is a great picture of your dog. Is the breed a shiba inu sp? Quote
