i just watched a video on youtube that basically said just that. i'm have more of a tendancy to side with that the human race is not affecting climate change to the degree that the 'scientists' say we are but if it costs a few billion dollars to do something about it, just in case we are the cause, the so be it and perhaps the world will be a little nicer that if we did nothing. on the other hand if the human race is at fault and we do nothing when we could have... i doubt i'll be around long enough, but then all of our decendants will say, WTF, why wasnt something done when they had the oppertunity to? -

you forgot cheese?!? there is an arguement afoot regarding the disliking of cheese. i can't see how anyone could not like cheese. that is simply rediculous. apart from chocolate, champange and strawberries, cheese is my favourite food. for all of you non-cheese lovers, well you are just simply wrong. -

gear - i have a cheap ice rod and a spinning reel but can be done with a dowel and line. tackle - jigs, little frog legs, rattles, a bobber, power bait, corn, worms etc. (check regs for bait restrictions for the water you fish) you could probably use double bunnies if you wanted, but remember you are jigging up and down not swimming like a bait fish personally i would not drive on 7 inches. definately wait until more than 18 inches, or just use a sled. i know there are some lakes in sask that you can leave your shack on, but here i have a strong feeling that if you left a shack on a public lake, it would not be there the next time you went out. it has been a bad past couple of years for ice. i dont think i have heard of shack limits on any of the lakes the last couple of seasons there has been open water on minnewanka, gap, ghost and lower k at some point in mid feb. finding fish - probably best to fish a lake you are familiar with and know the structure of the lake floor. or get a fish finder, tap a few test holes and see what you can find, reed beds, structure etc. i can't remember how deep we were at chain but probably around 15 ft before we were at the bottom, but dont quote me on that. down at beaver mines we were around 8ft when we were in to fish but the fish were feeding towards the bottom not much within 45 min of calgary. if you want pike, check Chestermere. if you dont mind the drive, go to chain, minnewanka, ghost, gap, wedge, upper/lower K, spray lakes, wedge. depending on the ice conditions and weather in the city you could try carburn park, and some of the community lakes if you have a friend who lives in the community. go down to Wholesale and talk to the fishing guys. there are a bunch of them who ice fish. i've only done it a few times

i dont know exactly what you mean by a dubbing tool. so no instructions on how to use one. i use 3 methods. 1. dubbing loop. best way to describe it would be to tie your thread on to you hook. let the thread hang, and double the thread back to the hook so you have 3 inches of thread now formed into a loop. close the loop on the hook by wraping the thread a couple of times. now your dubbing loop is secure and you can add whatever material you want inside the loop and twist to secure the material. then wrap you thead forward to where you want your dubbing to end, wrap the dubbing loop forward around the hook to where your thread is and secure with a few wraps, cut off the excess dubbing loop. (best for material like feathers or fur) 2. spliting the thread, basically, in stead of making the loop, you split the thread hanging down from the hook and insert the materian into the thread, twist a little and wrap forward on your hook. 3. finger method. assuming you are right handed and assuming no tail material, catch in thread to bend in hook and let thread/bobbin hang abot 6 inches from the hook, slightly moisen left index and thumb, take a pinch of dubbing material betweeen your right index finger and thumb, (i usually hold the hanging thread with my other 3 fingers for control) with you left fingers, start to spin the thread at the same time, spinning the dubbing material on to the thread with left hand and stablize with your right. only spin in one direction and try not to clump the material. this takes some practice but in the end you should end up with 4 or 5 inches of dubbing spun on to your thread. note, a little material will go a long way and to avoid clumping only spin on a little material at a time. it is very much like spinning yarn ie: sheep wool yarn, except you have a thread in the middle.

well that depends. if you are female and 70, gravity will have taken affect and the nipples would be at waist height, so that would not be a good messurement. i use boob in general because we all have a preconceived notion of where our boods used to be and still think they are. but if you want better directions, for those who dont know the female anatonmy ... try mid-sterum since the sterum will not be adversly affected by mother nature and the laws of physics.
