  3. wahoo, 23 would be my youngest... max is still too young LOL. i still dont do below 30. most 30 yr olds dont have their shyte together
  4. that would be true except i am a tackle tart. i cant resist. just the stuff i have purchased since oct 1st my bill is about $500. LOL. and that is only the stuff i remember buying. but that is my compulsion and i sleep walk sunday mornings down to troutfitters. the hangover at fish tails made me do it. "hell, if all you tied were pheasent tails, you could pay literally 8.00 for 50+ flies" where's the fun in that

  8. no, i had yesterday off but was shoping for a new computer/fly tying chair and magnifying lamp... i cant see anymore. i think he went out today. i had to work. it sucked
  9. hey rickr, i'm sorry if it came off as a generalization. i re-read and i guess the first part did; however, from the begining i did specifically say the people i had met. which is why i also threw in that i also lived in the states for a time, in hopes that people would understand that my comment wasnt generalized but based on actual experience. no i didnt google it. that would be one of those stupid useless pieces of information stuck in my head. that and every offical document that comes across my desk from mexico says united states of mexico in spanish. being an ex-travel agent certainly helped as i have sent people to each country except uganda and possibly uruguay, i dont remember. (because that would be useful) i second the patriotism that americans feel for their country. in canada, very few people say, hey i'm canadian and be proud of it, unless a conversation about beer comes up. everyone in canada comes from somewhere else. if you ask someone, where are you from or what's your heritage, and you get, well, my grandpa was from germany and my mom was born in scotland and my dad's dad was from.... and so on. my family has been in canada since 1700 something and i still say, english, irish, french and scotish with a little bit of native thrown in for good messure. i really dont know hom much more canadian i have to be to be canadian. it seems when you ask the question, no one wants to admit being from canada even the new canadians say "i'm ... (insert ethicity) rather than i'm canadian. even the newfies specify newfoundland as though it were a different country and same goes for the french quebecois i can certainly appreicate that you are proud of your heritage. we dont know how to differentiate any other way than saying not american because (again generalization) many people around the world see north america as america and mexico. so the automatic answer is, in stead of no i'm from canada, we say i'm not american. therefore, we must be from mexico... humm. Please, feel free to bash canadians - you're an adopted Canadian... we understand and it's funny. because, well really, we aren't canadians at all. we're just people from some other place who ended up living in igloos and cant get the dogsled up and running to get the hell out warning, this narative contains generalizations and i was going to pm you too. i wuv you rickr
  10. 9th ave just west of macleod se as it is east of centre by 1/2 a block Canadians are unfailingly polite-When traveling, Canadians are indistinguishable from Americans (except for the patch!) i do agree with that statement - my mother is the perfect example of that. i'm just curious rick - and not trying to stir the pot. just want to understand - it is ok for you to post the drunk southerner travelling down the road on a riding lawnmower for a laugh? either you were boasting that these are your people or embarassed because of the southerner stereotype, i wasnt sure which. but i cannot say that i have found that a number of americans loud and obnoxious from personal experience and i'm not talking 1 trip to seattle in my life time. and you have taken it personally as an afront to you. it was not meant to be. were you not generalizing and stereotyping? and gernerally making fun of some poor guy from lower middle class (staged or not for the sake of the video) is afraid of his wife and drunk enough to get on a lawnmower i was not making fun or being malicious, just making an obeservation. such as this one - your people, texans tend to be the nicest, and most polite that i have met. they open doors for you, say hello, smile, and tip their hat - if wearing one, if not they bow their heads a little, let you in line or in the elevator first and usually quiet, unassuming, unpretenious and generous. but again that is a personal observation of the number people i have met. of course i havent met all 330 million americans out there. dont assume i am pointing a finger at you in particular or any of your family or friends. i can only comment on people i have met along the road of life. maybe i just meet all the assholes and idiots. even in town there seems to be a big sign over my head that flashes - assholes wanted, please talk to me. i won't apologize for my opinions as they are what they are, but i will address the intent as my experiences have shown me. but it certainly is not fair to be upset at me for my opinion about actual poeple i have met while you post the stereotype to poke fun and prevoke the 'ahhh typical, so arkansawish - only in america' response which so politely was brushed over by everyone. but that's ok, you're american and you can criticize at yourself and your country but no one else can?!? the others are united kingdom, united states of mexico, united arab emirates, uzbekistan and ukraine
  11. that's ok, the girls can show him how to use his rod
  12. so much for saving you money you now realize??? i want to know someone who actually saves money tying their own, unless of course all the material was 'Willed' to them LOL
  13. well that makes it easier, i can reply to both of you then. right, wrong or otherwise, opinion are what they are. just opinions and everyone is entitled to one and has one. that being said. it was not meant as an anti-american shot at all, just an obersvation. certainly there are rude, loud, obnoxious people from everywhere espeically the french (i'm 1/4 french and my family is loud and obnoxious). also a decent portion of my family is american. i didnt say all, just many of the americans i have met while travelling, which i have done a lot of. that was not a blanket statement. nor was it meant to be. many of the canadians i have met travelling usually wear a button, pin or patch of a canadian flag somewhere on their person, i have also met americans... wearing a canadian flag because they would rather be thought of as canadian rather than american. why you might ask? because the americans who want you to know they are american (this may only apply to a small number) the ones who dont want to be known as american just want to be treated nicely where they go and not be bothered. there are certainly a lot of those ones around. as for vegas, that is the poor man's destination where the poor man for 200usd can fly there from almost everywhere in the country and get a hotel off the strip for 49usd a night and still rub elbows with the rich and famous. but those are the ones (generally and check the buffet line if you doubt me) that are the loud and obnoxious ones because they want everyone to know they are there. now if this works - http://www.slide.com/r/aNPpzQYz7T8wmfKMerB3fxcq9n3YP3qh that is what i am talking about in particular. name one country that starts with the letter U
  14. rickr you're dating yourself. and spandex is a privledge, not a right. being that i am NOT 5 ft 9 and 115lbs, i will not be wearing spandex EVER... (under waders doesnt not count)
  15. unfortunately our opinions dont count. i understand and completely agree with what you are saying, but that isnt how the legal system works. i think that is one of the reasons why they split up the case, because now, if they go to trial with the other 20 murders they can now use his preivous convicted history for similar crimes. they would probably get a first degree conviction, which with the previous conviction would mean minimum 25 years before he can apply for parol. so even if he can apply at 10 years, parol would not be granted because he would then be serving an additional 25 years for separate crimes. of course then he would be the worst serial killer in canada's history and would then more than likely be considered a dangerous offender and never see the light of day again. but then again, the justice system could do something right and give him 6 consecutive life sentances rather than concurent. didnt they deem paul bernardo a dangerous offender? he killed 3 young women.
  16. LMAO and i moved here from BC. every time i go back i have to remember to stop at the lights because they jump the greens there. but you do get leeway for cutting people off if you look like you dont know where you are going.
  17. finally someone figured out where my moniker came from. too bad i understood the french, kind of takes away from the mood when you know they are talking about how def leppard was number one in the US. not so romantic but you got it. that's me. now tell me more about this little crush that max has... LOL because one upon a time, that is how i ended up with the name... ie: the first verse of the song...
  18. i was wondering how long this would stay on topic. LOL i think the calgary law is that if you are run out of town they have to give you a pistol, a horse and one days rations, but you cant come back. i have heard there is another except to the murder law, if you are being attacked by indians while travelling at night in a covered wagon and you shoot one... it's ok. long winter indeed
  19. i'm getting depressed. i'm so not THAT creative.
  20. if that were the case, there would have been enough reasonable doubt to aquit (sp?) unless charged with conspiracy or acessory but then we are missing the shooter on the grassy knoll just because he owned the property and a slaughter house doesnt mean he did it, there would have had to have been enough phsycial evidence to directly link him to the murders. i dont think circumstancial evidence would have convicted him he was found guilty of the 6 murders he was charged with. the only matter was whether it was 1st or 2nd degree, for which the jury could not find enough evidence to convict of 1st degree - either by premeditation (which you would need some one else to say - he told me on this date and time on this tape recorder that he was going to plan to ....) or by involvement of c or d, see above response. pardon me people, i'm having a bad spelling night. i must be tired.
  21. he should have been found gulity of 1st degree, not by premediation but under section c or d, but then you would have to prove that there was a sexual assault at the time of death and since many of the women had been long dead and decomposed, it would be very difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
  22. the question is intent and what was his mind set. assuming each girl went to his place to offer services at separate times. the crown would have to prove that he had the intention to kill each one prior to getting them back to his house. ie: while picking her up at the corner and taking her back, perhaps his intent was just to have sex, he wanted to do something she didnt and in the heat of the moment, he killed her. that would be 2nd degree... just because he killed one we cant infer that he planned to kill the next one. also since he had not been convicted yet of the first murder, how can you use the first murder to prove the 2nd murder
  23. Canada's laws certainly are not as interesting as some countries. but there are a few that make you go hummmm. Ciminal Code of Canada Piracy - ( steals or without lawful authority throws overboard, damages or destroys anything that is part of the cargo, supplies or fittings in a Canadian ship, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years. **so if you happen across a canadian ship - any boat registered in canada and take off a fitting (oar holder for example) and throw it into the lake - you have committed piracy. Dueling - 71. Every one who (a) challenges or attempts by any means to provoke another person to fight a duel, ( attempts to provoke a person to challenge another person to fight a duel, or © accepts a challenge to fight a duel, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years. so be nice and dont call out your fellow board members - LOL when it comes to animals... apparently having sex with an animal gets you a longer sentance than if you maim or kill it, unless it is cattle. Bestiality 160. (1) Every person who commits bestiality is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years or is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction. Injuring or endangering cattle 444. Every one who wilfully (a) kills, maims, wounds, poisons or injures cattle, or ( places poison in such a position that it may easily be consumed by cattle, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years. R.S., c. C-34, s. 400. Injuring or endangering other animals 445. Every one who wilfully and without lawful excuse (a) kills, maims, wounds, poisons or injures dogs, birds or animals that are not cattle and are kept for a lawful purpose, or ( places poison in such a position that it may easily be consumed by dogs, birds or animals that are not cattle and are kept for a lawful purpose, is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction. selling defective stores to the military will get you 14 years... does that mean that whom ever sold us the leaky subs got the book thrown at them..? Selling defective stores to Her Majesty 418. (1) Every one who knowingly sells or delivers defective stores to Her Majesty or commits fraud in connection with the sale, lease or delivery of stores to Her Majesty or the manufacture of stores for Her Majesty is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years.
