  4. pseudo i prettymuch got it.. u forgot the time we spend on teh pc figuring out dates, helping wiht lodging n such, phonecalls, cellphone(local and longdistance calls) and the list goes on BUT I LOVE WHAT I DO AND WOULDNT CHANGE IT FOR ANY JOB OUT THERE imho!!! its my passion my craft and my LIFE!!! PhiltheFisher i wish you all the best in your trip too canada! im sure you will have a blast! please let us know how ya do!! take care n tightlines!
  5. that is a tough picture too get a good id any of the guesses/id's above could be it really.. a lake maybe by the forked tail but whittie or pike woul have ibn my first guess... hard too say by the rocks but i would have figured teh fish too be a 16" er ish..... but if it was a 8lber being high 20's my guess would be laker or pike or sucker..... not many fish taht size out taht way and not teh right fins for a sturgeon as a long shot! but is almost ahs sucker like lips.....
  6. dope pics dude! thanks for posting!

  8. like jack mentioned get the things uneed dont get a kit! get a decent vice.. a few other things and some materials and hooks too tie a few of your favorite and more simple fly patterns then build a inventory of supplies form tehre!
  9. nice fish dude!
  10. dope shots dude! thanks for posting!
  11. i think we need more enforcement so less fish get killed by campers........ saw quite a few this year get taken by people.... and was givin the same responce by most people.. just getting one for supper/breakfast... they dont get how small the populations are in these unfertile streams...... now hard too slay 100 fish per km in a small stream.. even if your only keeping one for breakfast...... it coudl be many other thigns aswell. but hte biggest thing ive seen in teh last few years is less fish but bigger average size... soi figure more room too grow for hte few fish left..... thoughts?
  12. check out "the reel doctor" in edmonton... if he is still around
  13. dope! im will be in there in a ew days and drop of a bunch!
  14. looks like a helluva trip dudes! thanks for sharing! like BBB mentioned looks like a mormon cricket.. they get huge migrations down in teh states! trout n bass love em! in the big numbers ive heard!!!!
  15. got marking on all of my rods.. simple easy and always closest too teh fish! got marking on my net too..... 24-30 on most of my sticks n net 20 on ym small creek stuff and 30-40 on my big fish stuff
  16. ive fished them lots on teh bow.. still do each year... ive fished em behind spawning browns like u do salmong and done ok at best.. most of teh time spotty! they can be ok below ina bucket were alot of browns are spawning but i have never really had tons of success.. compared too in teh late fall fishing midges and small mayflies...... i figured fish would key in on em like they do out in salmon country but i believe that our fishdont see enough of them too really care too much.. the odd fish moves up and eats them tho..... i like yarn ones and im nto a fan of pegging if you want too give em a go!
  17. it sucks when most of the red neck hillbillie i run into are suburanites....... we need changes..... soon before some of these streams become a near wasteland and might not recover.... as a guide. i do my part educating most of these people on what i know about random camping laws, river regs, stream and enviromental destruction and hwo not too be a goofball and disrespect our beautiful province...... most of the time i get dissed by them.... but some get it....
  18. i got a 8'8" 3wt for everything small stream and dry on teh bow 8' 2wt for teh cutties i like a longer rod.. keeps the line upa little higher.. mends nicer and gives me better control! get out and cast a few and find what u like best! pipestone nailed it!! i got a few rods n a few more on the list of "must" haves on the way!!!! it will get too teh point were u will have a rod for each specific situation!!! but if i onyl needed one rod a 9' 5wt would be it!

hey jeremie u can find ton sof water too fish around fishcreek southland dogpark glenmore bridge etc..... small nymphs size 18 or so will be working best.. jauns are a good bet too!@ streamers should be starting too pick up on the overcast cooler days!
  20. it could be your flies too dude keep on top using different nymphs too match what is hatching.. small 18s were the ticket for me... but most of them were on a hopper dropper in teh shallow stuff.... fish dont really seem too be in the deep slow yet specially in teh second half of the day
